HI THERE MY NAME'S BERRY AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SHADE

Anyways, I got bored a day or two ago and instead of doing something productive I suddenly recalled there being something about some old Danny Phantom concept art of what some people thought was Tucker and a blonde, bucktoothed "Danny" (with dark brown/black eyes no less) (It's the second picture down). So for a while I tried to find that particular piece of concept art on the internet and while exploring through Google, I found this , some of the earliest concept art for Danny done by Butch Hartman all the way in 2001.

After having a good laugh at the little ghost on Danny's chest and his nice briefs, I thought it would be fun to try and draw all of these "Beta Dannys" and interpret them in my own way. I ended up drawing, the Danny with the ghost on his chest first and tried to interpret his hair style into my style. I actually liked his hair in the concept and thought it was kind of cute and then for fun, I decided to see what he'd look like in DP style. Now picking colours for this design was kind of difficult because I felt like I couldn't just have it be black and white and be done with it, so I decided to make the main colour of the suit be gray and make the ghost green. I'm still a bit iffy on the colour scheme and if you'd like to see a slightly different version of it, you can see another one in my stash . Also, since it looks like his hair is black in the original concept, I kept it black and to fit in with the "phantom powers" I made his eyes green, and I ended up doing that for most of the Dannys on here too.

Now the top two Dannys right above the gray-suited Dannys are pretty much the same design. The one of the left is just a derivative of the full one right next to it, which looks a bit more like the regular Danny we all know and wonder if we were the only girls who had a crush on him when we were younger. Pretty much, it just a different interpretation of his hair style, because I liked the way that the one jumping at the bottom in Hartman's original concepts' hair looked. I know that it's not an entirely different hairstyle and was just to show how his hair would look in movement but I thought that it looked so cute that I just had to draw it. It also kind of gave Danny a bit a of a punkish vibe too in that concept.

Next at the bottom right with the fancy belt is the closest in to Phantom's current look albeit a different hairstyle and looking like he could be Dash's fitness' coach instead. I would have probably beefed up mine more, but I suck at drawing muscles just as much as I suck at shading so I'm going to give myself a gold star for trying.

And then of course this brings us to the fabled "Blonde Danny." So after I inadvertedly stumbled upon to Hartman's original concepts instead of Blonde Danny, I did some digging through my grandparents' harddrive and found it saved on there. But the thing was, I wanted to find a proper source for it, to double check and make sure that this was official concept art...Then I rememberd that Google Images sourcing trick that I learned from Tumblr last month and used that to find an actual website and as you can guess, it ended up being official and done by Stephen Silver. But after I found the blog, I also saw this which is pretty much an slightly different version of Danny's human form, and since it doesn't say outright on the "Blonde Danny" picture that it is an early concept of Danny himself, I've been starting to doubt it a bit.

Either way he was fun as hell to draw!

And then to complete this group of Dannys I decided to draw the regular Danny we all know and fangirl over, being confused as heck over his previous conceptual incarnations. Also one more thing to note is that I tried to experiment a bit with the shading and all of the figures with the exception of the gray-suited Danny in my style, (where I attempted to legitimately shade) by using the watercolour brush on Corel Painter 4.

Again, I like to remind you all that these are only my interpretations of Danny's conceptual designs.
