For the past two days I've been trying to come up with an idea about how the site's layout update should be.
Suggestions regarding the Core members' benefits:
Core members should have the ability to customize their background image or colors.
The number of Custom boxes should be 20 instead of 10 for Core Members.
Access to all of the widgets that already existed in this site.
Core members being able to change their username every 3 months.
Suggestions regarding the NON-Core members' benefits:
Non-Core members should have the ability to change the colors of their backgrounds.
Non-Core memebers should be given the right to have at least 1 custom box compared to now that they have non.
Non-Core members should have access to the polls widget.
Non-Core members should have access to the critique feature.
Non-Core members being able to change their username every 6 months.
In addition, the following features would also be included in this version:
Light Mode
Likes button in comments

What if this concept of Eclipse had actually the option for users to customize and change the colors of your profile?

(These colors can also be used in combination like for instance a Red Header and black profile colors with a yellow Font)

As far as the Notifications system, it's perfect the way it is now (classic version). It's comfortable and user-friendly. The only change it would have should be the colors to match the new ones.
If you agree with this version of DeviantART Eclipse, please share it in any possible way so that our voices can be heard and for DeviantART to continue being the unique site we all know and love.
I also urge you to use the blank version and add your own information from your own profile and share it with the rest of the members.

additionally Eclipse should have a more tidy notification hub, like the one we have now where you can easily delete many things with a few clicks and were everything is sorted by type of message (comment, reply etc) and not the chaotic mess I've seen in Eclipse e.e

It's more easier to handle then looking at the hot trash they're pushing.
Though I'm not a big fan of the idea on having a massive gap between the header and the items, it'd be cool to not have that appear unless you put something there.
20 seems a bit much but maybe add the ability to customize every box or the feature/favorites, ID and other normal boxes for core. (I can't see donations and polls being customized, that just seems weird to me.) If that wasn't already a thing that is.

This is definitely a much prettier layout. It's simply the classic layout with a bit of modern flair instead of the complete overhaul Eclipse is.
I only disagree with profile backgrounds (headers) being core exclusive and core members art being promoted more than non core.
But overall this is infinity more preferable!

I don't think non-core member should have 5 custom boxes though, that's the points of having a core membership, for most people (me included) this is kind of the only main reason I want a core membership, by giving non-cores the custom boxes the 'economy' of DA will be completely screwed
and I feel like it would kind of unfair to all the people who have core for the custom boxes, the polls and other stuff to just give that to the others as well
but I do believe for all who have core, the option to have custom boxes should stay like the way you showed in the picture

Because we can still do it on original version by adding page dolls/thumbs and whatnot, just not actual full on customization so I don't agree with not have any at all, and like they said maybe images and simple colors are doable but not actual aesthetic/pattern/photo backdrops without core

Yup which is basically what I’m saying, but 2-3 maybe even 4 would be good imo because I tested the “custom” box in Eclipse and it’s only a single one for now (still beta tho, and I forgot if they stated the numbers somewhere). But considering I could add thumb/pagedolls on multiple widgets in the original DA...then one measly section/box to be able add stuff would kinda suck
(I could add it on ID, featured deviation, Faves gallery, art gallery, and donation pool...which is technically 5 so...)
You can add more ”galleries“ though but I don’t care about that
Point is with simplified customization like picture, text and simple bg then multiple custom box equivalents is no different from core vs non core users now. The super custom stuff would still be to get even more boxes and more customization options.

That’s unfair to people who can’t afford Core. Anyone should be able to customize their profile; before Core, anyone could customize their profile much more than with what we have now. So it would be nice to bring that back. I say maybe non-Core could get three boxes and Core get the five boxes?
