Description
A sketch of the day requested byThey're kind of nerds. Their idea of a good time is exploring academic stuff.
Scale is off, Kayli's supposed to be bigger than Anuli, but I could probably pass it off as perspective. Kayli is grimacing from the effort of her take off - it takes a lot of energy.

yay I feel so special that I was mentioned in your description
Maybe they decided to have a race to the library? lol I don't know, but I like it c: they look like such good buddies. If they were racing it looks like Anuli isn't very surprised that Kayli decided to take off the ground xDĀ
They're so cute c: and pretty. I should draw them sometime, but Kayli's markings are kind of intimidating xDĀ

Sounds like something that they would do haha!
I've been thinking for ages that I need to make a tutorial for Kayli and Kayoss' markings! I often get people uncertain about them but they're actually pretty simple. Basically, I think of the forehead marking as being a stick man who is strapped to Kayli/Kayoss' head, with the beginning of their dorsal stripe being the head. The cheek marking (which is the same on either side) is a striking cobra (easy to remember since falcolfs are venomous.) The two markings just above the eyebrow markings are 'islands.' That probably didn't make much sense, but that's how I remember how to draw them! XDĀ

I didn't really get the stick figure thing, but then I looked at a portrait you did of her and I get it now xD I also see the cobra thing to.Ā
now that I look at them again they don't seem that hard, but I don't know. She just has soo many stripes...stripes are just intimidating xD but I'd probably be able to do it by breaking it down in sections.
but your way to describe them does make sense though

That's what I basically do - break them down into sections. I have how many stripes she has on her shoulders, midriff and haunches memorized. If you ever make a character with stripes, I really recommend not overwhelming yourself too much by thinking of all the stripes that are on the character at once. Just break it up into sections, it makes it way easier! I've gotten pretty good at it now that I have to remember Anzi's stripe pattern as well as Kayli and Kayoss'.
Anzi is quite a bit different, though I purposefully made his cheek markings simpler! XD

I try to do that, but sometimes I'm dumb and mess up lol I like keeping things as simple as possible. I don't think I even have any characters with stripes...they just seem so overwhelming.
In college we were taught to section off things all the time, sometimes I do it and sometimes I don't, but it works well for patterns and such, hopefully it'll become second nature eventually.Ā
You have so many unique patterns for your characters...that must be hard to memorize them all though. I saw the picture of Anzi, but I'm not sure who he is...but I like his cheek markings

Nice motion to their poses! Kayli looks to have a bit too long of a body though...

Yeah, I definitely drew her back a little too long. I'd fix it if I was gonna colour it of course. Thank you!
