This picture has another title, but I'm not posting it online, due to the fact that it carries some bad memories of something which happened, which caused me a great deal of heartache. This was an emotional stress reliever, because at the time (last week) I was feeling extremely sick with stress, to the point where I felt like puking. That's over with though and drawing this healed me, so here's the original commentary:

After many months of computer difficulty (and I am not out of the woods yet, my laptop crashed twice trying to export this as a .png but I think it just needs a cleaning) I finally have enough space on my hard drive to allow my use of photoshop and my new tablet again. To start, I wanted to do something with hard black lines, cell colour and a lot of mood.

This was drawn without any reference whatsoever. The colouring of the two wolves is based upon Shaun Ellis' (the 'wolfman') findings that higher ranking wolves such as alphas have brighter colouring because they eat the better meat from the kill (liver,heart, entrails, etcetera).

This was a stress reliever. I'm glad it turned out rather pretty with the colours (normal agouti coloured wolves rule) and I think I pulled off what I was trying to convey quite well. From my stress was born something pretty.

Also, knowing your bone structure becomes doubly important when drawing stuff like this. Every time I draw a head pose like this I have to draw out a rough skull with a jaw, or it looks like poop. I'm happy with the teeth.

Hehe, the darker alpha wolf looks like a fox a bit XD I'm pretty sure it's the pupils. I'm not sure what possessed me to give a wolf fox pupils but I did lol. Just makes it more badass though!

Kudos to anyone who even faintly recognizes the design of the paler wolf. She's an old character.
