Original text: I wasn’t feeling up to working on anything serious like my Valentine’s Day project today and I need to go to bed early if I want to write anything decent tomorrow, so I sketched a Ki. Then I coloured a Ki and shaded a Ki and did a lot more to this sketch of Ki than I originally meant to.
He’s properly scrawny and feisty looking here. I’m not sure what sort of sound he’s making - he’s probably chirring or some combination of that with growling. I don’t think he’s barking or making a higher pitched sound. He’s definitely not keening. He’s making his usual nonsense sounds - most as-dragon drakoon can converse together in Dragon but Ki doesn’t know how to speak it, so he just talks to himself and makes whatever sounds he thinks suits his emotions which means a lot of snarling, hissing and growling. Ki doesn’t make many friendly sounds. He loves keening but his keepers discourage him from making too much noise and attracting attention to his very vulnerable little self. Sometimes he squeaks and he’ll usually answer Kelveniska’s ‘come here’ chirps, trotting over to see what Kelveniska wants.
When allowed he makes an ungodly horrible racket. Some of the sounds that as-dragon drakoon make would hurt human ear drums because they’re so high pitched. As-dragon drakoon have a pretty extensive library of sounds that they can make.
So Ki being Ki, he’s probably complaining about something while flicking his tail about in agitation.
He’s probably bored or pensive about something. I don’t draw him sitting very often but he actually does it a lot, though he prefers laying about like a big, floppy, super bony cat.
