I dunno lol, it would probably be canonical for him to get one after the story. He's definitely someone who would want one though! He really appreciates the manic energy of dogs, being quite manic himself.

Rimer doesn't have any - though they were probably brought to the planet, since the Northern Dersehound (Escavian breed, woo,) is a sighthound and would have some genetics from them but greyhounds and salukis likely went extinct as distinct breeds. Dersehounds are generally seen in the north of Escavia though and Scorch here prefers a southern clime. (Not that he can feel the equatorial heat, but that's where he grew up.) Domestic animal breeds are pretty regional since transportation and trade can be pretty limited. Dersehounds are Escavia's only actual hunting breed and are kind of a spitz/sighthound. I'd love to have a bunch of pretty salukis galloping around but I don't believe they'd survive the colonial period very well, not when the concentration then was farming. In Escavia, herding and general working breeds are king.
