You rise with the moon, I rise with the sun

I jumped onto the Avatar bandwagon, like, I don't even know how late, but I absolutely LOVE it! <33 I didn't like "The Legend of Korra" as much as the original series, but that might just be 'cuz the differences rattled me (I mean, it really is a great series too, and especially the artwork is amazing).

This picture was inspired by the above quote from book one, episode 20, and the original idea was a sort of mini-series with Zuko with the sun and then Katara with the moon, but then I started to expand it in my mind, and expand it some more, and then some more again, and then reduce it a little, and in the end it became a series of eight pictures, featuring eight characters. The series itself is inspired by tarot cards, but I don't follow quite the same imagery in quite the same order.

So this is number one of the series; The Sun, featuring Zuko, the book one version ;D You gotta love that angry jerk!

Colours: Winsor & Newton Artist's Watercolours, Schmincke opaque white gouache.
Paper: A4 Canson aquarelle paper (250 g/m2).
