It was another regular day for the young buckskin. As the sun peaked over the horizon, Illucid was getting to his feet and stretching out his limbs. It was another day on Olde. He had made himself comfortable there. Of course, he had never planned for it to be a permanent arrangement, but where someone as mindless as Illucid was, he wasn't quite aware of the land bridges and when they came up. Plus the Olde wasn't so bad anyway. The buckskin had been having a great time exploring. There was so much to see there. He hadn't even finished with the city. How could one even explore something that large? As the thoughts ran through his mind, Illucid walked out of his cover within a thick patch of pines. The Olde seemed to have plenty of them, and he had found this particular patch to be great for sleeping in. The trees were close together, though with enough space for Illucid's slim frame to fit between them. It kept him hidden to the oblivious eye.

As he emerged from the cover of the pines, Illucid took a moment to look around. He wasn't too far from the beach - that much he knew. With an island he barely knew, it was still hard remembering things, though the more he traveled, the better it got. Now, he could tell which way the city was, and which way would take him to the other ends of the islands. Every now and then he found himself walking in circles, but the young stallion was able to right himself and continue on. Now, Illucid ambled towards the beach. One thing he hadn't been expecting when visiting the Olde Isle was the snow. He'd seen it before on the East, but nothing like this. He was already having a hard time staying warm during the chilly nights. To keep himself warm, Illucid kept himself moving.

With his muscles chilled from his sleep, Illucid made his way, mumbling to himself under his breath when his hooves struck the sand. The cold had frozen most of it, making it awkward to walk on. The challenge welcomed the stallion, and he picked his way along, pausing every now and then to look out over the water. He was always wondering what everyone was up to back on the East Isle. Granted, he didn't know many of the horses there, nor did he try to get involved with the Bachelors, but it was where had had been born and raised. It was, essentially, all that he knew. He couldn't help but be curious about what was going on over there. His eyes narrowed slightly, and as the wind picked up, so did Illucid's thoughts. Soon, he became engulfed in them, letting them run through his mind.

Illucid was roused from his daydreams by the sound of squawking from overhead. Confused and slightly annoyed, the stallion turned his gaze up towards the sky, looking mildly surprised when he noticed the two birds hovering above. The weird thing was, it looked like they were looking at him. Frowning and now feeling a little paranoid, Illucid looked up once more to find them still there. This time, however, they swooped down and came to land on his back. Illucid could have cared less about that. There wasn't much that upset them. Plus, the two looked like they could have been pretty important - that was quickly confirmed. They chimed their message. Ba'Yagu? At the Great Pine? What did this mean?

It was decided that he would go. Illucid respected the witch a great deal, regardless of the fact that he had never met her. That only made him want to see her more. He didn't have long to think about it before the birds were taking flight again. Illucid's eyes widened. Where were they going? He knew where the Great Pine was, and he knew they had said to come quickly.. but surely Ba'Yagu wouldn't mind if he took a few moments to speak to these birds? He'd never met anything like them before, and it had sparked his curiosity. From the time they landed and relayed their message to the time they got up to leave, he had wanted to pound them down with a thousand questions. As his mouth opened to begin, they were flying off. Illucid was alarmed. He wasn't even done talking to them!

They seemed not to be interested in him, though, and as he took off galloping down the beach, they only seemed to fly faster. Only one of the birds looked to be enjoying their race. The other looked rather grumpy. Illucid soon realized that he was never going to catch these birds or get them to answer his questions, but the movement and stretching of his muscles felt fantastic. The more he ran, the faster he could go. His warming muscles pushed him to go farther, and soon he felt as he, too, was flying. The birds seemed amused by his foolishness, but still they continued on their way.

Eventually, Illucid had to slow. With his head held high and nostrils flaring, he came to a stop and looked around. He was still alone. How embarrassing would that have been to be seen racing with a bunch of birds? Talking birds, for that matter. Strange.. so very strange. Still, his interest in the witch and her powers only increased because of it. With his body warmed from the morning workout, Illucid set off, continuing down the beach at a comfortable trot, happy to have the movement to keep him warm and the thoughts of what was to come to keep him occupied.

I wanted to get at least one of these done.. because I'm a terrible procrastinator XDD

The pose is still iffy.. I dunno. I was having troubles with it the whole way through. and those birds.. and the background.. just. yeah. xD
