well that took it's time did it not?But, with no further ado here's the new issue of "Twists and Turns"
We are just taking a first step into the backstory of Discord.
Will it be good? Will it be bad? Well...I have no idea XD

He was ancient history, of course he's dead. (not based off your headcanon)
I am basing this off the idea that Equestria was formed before the princesses were born. In Hearths warming, Star Swirl was mentioned to be the mentor of Clover the Clever, and I don't think the princesses were born until many MANY years later.

I think that the DiscordStarswirl thing is stupid, no effense. Pretty ok comic, but Dicord is NOT STARSWIRL! John Delance said it himself!

From what I've heard, there was a recent interview with the writers and they said Discord was not Star Swirl. Still, I rather enjoy that head cannon idea. ^_^

Haha, I don't really want to get into a big headcanon debate, but unless he has an extraordinarily long life, "pony" Starswirl should probably be dead long before the age of the sisters. And Discord is treated as an entirely separate entity.
Not entirely impossible, but it's rather unnecessary. There's no correlation except for the fact that they both have beards. It's just a huge stretch for me that the most revered wizard in history would be the same person as the one who reigned chaos down on the world.

maybe the same sorcerer that created "time travel" spells could find a way to create an eternal/long life spell
Also chaos isn't evil nor good it's one of the few things in this world that is impartial

I've seen a lot of "Discord was Starswirl" stories, and I have to say, this one is my favorite by far. I feel this works quite well with what we know in canon. Plus, I like that it seems he was always rather full of himself, and obsessed with power and control. Also seems Celestia's always had a soft spot for him, eh? c:

Everyone loves power, the diffuclt part is not getting corrupted by it or using it in the wrong way...
But he was not about power, he is or was about protecting what's important to him.
Even before the transformation he enjoyed having fun, so celestia liked him...
