Character concepts, character concepts everywhereI bet if I didn't tell you who these three are supposed to be from you would think it could be something that could be made by Jim Henson or something.
Well, these are the three puppets from 123 Slaughter Me Street, the Waiter, the Greeter, and the Follower. I think it's easy enough to tell what title belongs to who
This is character concept (really, Sherlock?), Β but also interpretation. We see the puppets as they are in the game, but they look relatively different to what we have here. My theory on why they look the way they do and not like the way I drew them is either their creator didn't finish them, or the years of being left to rot made some colors fade and some features to fall off.
And I should say those puppets scare me! The sounds they make, their designs, and their jumpscares all give me a good fright. Greeter scares me most. And I love the story. Can't wait for the next game!
And I'm not entirely sure why Fowler looks so distressed, it just happened

This is so adorable! I was also thinking about the possibility of them looking normal to everyone besides the guy you play as, but I'd never thought about The Greeter being a griffon (which is my favorite mythical creature btw). I would definitely watch a show staring these three, nicely done.

Thanks! I wanted to go for play on words with their names and what creature they happen to be, and it seems I did well. Greeter being a griffon did require some hard thinking on my part; what can I make this demon birb into that seems normal...

Ah. With Waiter it just seemed like the hanging fabric on his arms could be the tattered remains of wings. Greeter's wings, however, don't have a base other than I-Liked-How-It-Looked. We never really get a good look at the feet of Follower, and the horns made me think of rams, so why not give him hooves. That's all I can say about it. It was mostly self-indulgent

They are SO cute! I won't deny I think the Follower is adorable. His/Its jump scare didn't scare because I was too distracted by how cute the little guy was. I don't know, something about it is endearing to me.
The Greeter scared me the most, that's because sometimes it just pops out! I don't even see it step out the door, I'm just dead and I don't know why!

Follower, for me, is fairly anxiety inducing. On the first floor you really can't just run to the exit, seeing as Follower will catch you pretty much every time. He didn't scare me as much as tense up.
Greeter, however, is very very scary! You gotta remember to shine your light both in front of and behind you. It's like you get the Greeter out of your path, the Exit is right there, and then you die. Shatters your hopes right then and there.

I can agree with that. The Follower can be fairly Nail-Biting, but the Greeter just seems the most...Time-Consuming, if that makes sense. You gotta do the most to make sure you don't get Jump-Scare by him/her/it.

Thanks! I had a sneaking suspicion that their outward appearance in the game isn't mean to be so scary and so puts off children, so I kinda headcannoned my way to these conclusions

I love the way you designed the characters in this cute innocent little style here. I love how you made the characters blend in with these other animals or creatures. The Waiter looks like something that would come out of 'Dragons Tales'. XD I love it. Wonderful work and theory!

Thanks! I've been doing a lot of character design practice lately and it's just that 123 SMS popped into my head.
It seemed to me that the puppets looked somewhat...incomplete. They looked like the start of something what with all the unique features all three possess. I ran with that idea and also came up with the iliteration names. I also tried to make the names sound somewhat like their official titles, with Fowler being the most successful one in my eyes.
Dragon Tales! Oh man I used to love that show! Aw man that made my day! And yeah, I can totally see him in Dragon Tales too! I imagine him being the first fur dragon they've seen!
