Well it's been awhile since I've done something really good, and I've had a few people asking to see more of Emie... so I thought I might go all out for a change.I spent 4 days or so on this... prolly around 10 to 12 hours. Most of it was spent on the CG. Cel shading takes sooo long. But check out Emie's pants.. OMG that took forever. I'm not completely satisfied with it (note the crappy bg), and Hal's legs are too short, but other than that, I like it.
Emie is on the left, Hal is on the right. Emie is smaller and younger, and she isn't a fallen angel so her wings are intact. Also, they have shiny hair.
If you select Somewhat Like Deviation or Dislike Deviation, PLEASE give some kind of reason. Anything will do, but I can't make my art better unless you tell me what's wrong with it, can I?
EDIT: They both do have eyebrows (though they may be faint), and Halcyon's right boot (viewer's left) *is* meant to appear smaller. It is not the same boot... if you haven't guessed by now, I'm a big whore for asymmetrical clothing design. However, it would've been better to have matching boots. For the record.

Forgive my ignorance, but did you create these characters, or are they from something else?
I love the picture, and the outfits look fantastic.
If only I knew how to do cel drawing/colouring!

This is the first bit of Hal and Emmie that i have seen so far. And in terms to the character faces, if this is how you draw the faces its alright its your style. I see that body figure is one of your stronger points no? don't worry

Oh, I like this a lot. I'm checking Like Deviation because I love all your work, but I will still give you my two cents worth on critique.
I love the warm glow you added to Emie's head--really nice touch. But her right leg seems a bit awkward due to the fact you can't tell what it's resting upon (if anything). Other than that, she's rendered great.
Hal seems a bit off too, proportionally. Her upper body is nice and slender, which makes her legs seem to short. But her clothing is rendered amazingly. Both of their clothing look awesome.
Other than that, I think it's all great. I love your style of anime/manga. It rocks.
And I'm wondering, do you have a drawing tutorial planned sometime in the future?

everyone i know needs to work on something with anatomy
so if you do, and i doubt you dont, you dont have the right to say anything
and the whole thing about the face, etc was totally unconstructive
that was basically tearing apart matt's style and its almost impossible to change your style

yay! it's finally finished. i think i like the shading on hal's skirt even more than i like emie's pants. the hair looks especially great. however, i was disappointed to see you went with navy instead of bright blue for teh pants.. did you save other versions this time?

y'know? half the time proportion in an artpiece doesn't have to be right so don't worry about it, it's fantatic even without it. I love your soft gentle touch with your works ... IF YOU EVER MAKE THE COMIC LET ME WORK FOR YOUUUUUU!!!!

you know what I found funny about all of the comments? it seems like you had already made comments about the things people kinda complained about... well it just seems like if you felt like they were "mistakes" you had already seen them so i just think it's funny when people like to comment about them anyway.. heehee err I'm rambling! anyway!

Wow-Very beautiful and cute piece here. I'm loving how that skirt hangs of the chibi's hips. As everyone else here, I love both their outfits..I want outfits like those. >>; I like the glow about their nifty looking hair and wings. Mf, now to pick at it as you want? Lets see here..The only things that really bug me is that the first girl dosen't look like she has a second shoulder back there, and the second girl looks like she's missing a whole half of her arm with how that glove is positioned. Thats all, keep up the wounderful work! ^^;
