Well it's been awhile since I've done something really good, and I've had a few people asking to see more of Emie... so I thought I might go all out for a change.I spent 4 days or so on this... prolly around 10 to 12 hours. Most of it was spent on the CG. Cel shading takes sooo long. But check out Emie's pants.. OMG that took forever. I'm not completely satisfied with it (note the crappy bg), and Hal's legs are too short, but other than that, I like it.
Emie is on the left, Hal is on the right. Emie is smaller and younger, and she isn't a fallen angel so her wings are intact. Also, they have shiny hair.
If you select Somewhat Like Deviation or Dislike Deviation, PLEASE give some kind of reason. Anything will do, but I can't make my art better unless you tell me what's wrong with it, can I?
EDIT: They both do have eyebrows (though they may be faint), and Halcyon's right boot (viewer's left) *is* meant to appear smaller. It is not the same boot... if you haven't guessed by now, I'm a big whore for asymmetrical clothing design. However, it would've been better to have matching boots. For the record.

and you know what? You're a better judge at your own artwork than some of these ppl who think they know what looks good, but it's your artwork which means YOU know what looks good. I mean, not to be rude or anything, but some ppl here who critisize can't even match up to thier critisizm (like drawing skillz etc) I won't get into it though.

ppl always have different opinions. :/ I try to understand other artists styles so I can understand the art and not make any bad comments about it. I don't see a thing wrong with it. It's your style, you can't go wrong with that. I'm very impressed with the details! Like the pants and the faces are cuuute and squishy, which I like, ^-^ I just love your style. Regardless what you draw and how you draw it. (but I'm kinda self consious and I always bash/critisize my own works and say how wrong or messed up they look...but I shouldn't be so harsh sometimes :/ or else I loose my confidence to draw)

i wouldn't say Hals legs are too short..it looks like her torso is too long,thus making her legs too short..... but i like the CG... and don't worry about the BGs nobody really gets the *perfect* BG all the time. it's still a really nice work. fav.

Nuttin wrong with constructive criticism. I love aspects of this, especially their outfits. But, I can't sink myself into love of the good things about this picture and ignore the faults. Well, yes, like some people have said, their smiles look kinda funky, I think it looks like someone's taking a photo of them, and they're not really enjoying it. Basically it looks like a forced "say cheese" smile. Also, I don't know on exactly what picture you said it, but I recall you saying once that you can't seem to keep your style exactly the same, which is good because that helps improve your skills. In this case, that seems to have happened with the hair, because when I first looked at this picture, I hardly recognized Halcyon, her hair was so thin comared to how you usually draw her. Also, I'll offer my input on the legs issue. I think you were drawing Hal's torso like you usually do, but then once you got to the legs, you ended up getting cut off by size restrictions. If you had drawn her legs to size, Emie would've ended up floating a few inches above ground. Cel-shading is great though. I would'nt dare try.....I can't even CG well in the normal way.

I've never head of this Emie person before. I don't get why people supposdley are dissapointed with this. The eyes are great, and they have real good depth. Which is something i think i remember you saying you wanted to achieve. You did. And the folds are awesome. Usually the clothes you draw are sometimes suspended in air on the character, which isn't bad. It's just your thing that you do. But the pants really hang off the girls in this piece, which i like a whole bunch. I like the flatter shine on the shoe metal.
The only thing i don't like is the shape of their mouths, but that's just personal preference. All in all i don't see anything *wrong*. You've progressed.
I kinda skimmed over what everyone had said...true, i also think you could do a whole lot more when it comes to faces and whatnot. The torso is a little long, but it's nothing to kill yourself over. and concidering how stout you draw crotches, i believe her legs would start just about at the button of her pants, which means that the legs are much longer than people think.
Doo doo doo...anything else to say? hrmmmm...oh yeah. wait...no. not much. wait, yes. You are good at details. You do them alll the time. And i like your application of the glow.

i really like the anime. the sketch and the coloring is really good and i really like the phenomena of creation..... to be honest i really like it but if u would have done some thing in background it would have looked more sexy and nice .... but i am not saying that the thing u made doesnt worth it... it woth every sec of the time u have spend on it and i really admire it. it was still good . but i think evry person have different idea of thinking am i right???????????

BEST ANIME EVER! I think that this is the best drawing on deviantART!!! I like the way its not suggestive and STILL kicks ass! Is there any special effect in photoshop to color like that? Im gonna start coloring my anime in photoshop. Now to get it...

this is nice.. This is really nice but there are a few things that I can see that might need to be improved.
Hal's long torso is beautiful, slender and gorgeous but I get the feeling you needed to balance it out with longer legs, although looking again, this may have been difficult as Erm seems In proportion, and the lengthening of her legs also (so they look like they're standing on the same level) may have altered her proportions.
I know it has been said but the faces seem a little off. I know it's your style and I'm not trying to knock it at all but if you made the eyes a little shorter and wider it would make their faces look a little more rounded as opposed to stretched, and I don't particularly think that the mouths match the jawline.
On the positive side I think that the folding in the clothes is awesomely detailed, the general design is super sweet. The colouring is absolutely gorgeous, it really shows off the lineart well and brings a definate aspect of depth. And I am beyond jealous of your ability to draw hands

Beautiful piece. Pants are great,cg &shading fantastic. But yes, I somewhat agree with Maui about the [link] may be their smiles. I'm pretty sure that's it. Hal's torso a tad too long, and Emie could be made to look a bit more petite. But only after REALLY looking at it closely. Besides that, it's beautiful.

I love this!! Hal and Emie are so cute, and I love their bottoms. You did wonderfully on Emie's pants, so all that time didn't go to waste! ^^ I don't see any real problem with the image, except... I was wondering if Hal's eye color was supposed to look different from each eye? Because one is really bright and colorful and the other one is yellowish.
