Well it's been awhile since I've done something really good, and I've had a few people asking to see more of Emie... so I thought I might go all out for a change.I spent 4 days or so on this... prolly around 10 to 12 hours. Most of it was spent on the CG. Cel shading takes sooo long. But check out Emie's pants.. OMG that took forever. I'm not completely satisfied with it (note the crappy bg), and Hal's legs are too short, but other than that, I like it.
Emie is on the left, Hal is on the right. Emie is smaller and younger, and she isn't a fallen angel so her wings are intact. Also, they have shiny hair.
If you select Somewhat Like Deviation or Dislike Deviation, PLEASE give some kind of reason. Anything will do, but I can't make my art better unless you tell me what's wrong with it, can I?
EDIT: They both do have eyebrows (though they may be faint), and Halcyon's right boot (viewer's left) *is* meant to appear smaller. It is not the same boot... if you haven't guessed by now, I'm a big whore for asymmetrical clothing design. However, it would've been better to have matching boots. For the record.

only one critisim I can think of for this peice that hasnt been said(atleast I think it hasnt). Its about the height, you say that Emie is smaller and younger(which I assume here means height as well) but from what I can tell, if they were to both be standing straight up Emie would be either the same height if not taller then Hal. So the only thing I can suggest is that you watch out for proportions when using different poses in the same peice.
Other then that... its amazing... This site is so bad for my self esteem I swear to god... haha.

Great job. Its good to see you asking for critisicm. Although I think youll have a hard time finding someone who will critique your work since everyone's so in love with you, LOL! I cant see anything wrong, but Im untrained and mesmerised by the shibby shiny hair...o_o
So I guess all I have to say is great job, I hope you find what you are looking for, cos Im not sure how you could improve. And Keep it up! (>^_^

dang buddy this is insane! those outfits are crazy! i love them! they're so funky... almost like they belong in a final fantasy or something. i love hals... her half skirt/glove combo rox. and emies pants are far too cool. awsome job on the folds in the clothing, those are awsome. you did an awsome job with the cel shading, it looks great. worth the effort put into it.

OH MY! I've done a few cell shading pics, and my god, the detail of the pants are f*******ink amazing! I can't believe you actually got them sooooo close together and they are still very distinct. And, as always, I love the sloppy yet clean style of yours. If I were to leave the pencil + scanner errors in one of my inked pics (although this isn't inked) I would go psycho!
I personally like this style, and I can only hope fore more in this style. Although you mentioned the few errors, they have no effect on the final result. The detail is great and I hope you agree that the final result is very pleasing.

i am goin to ask fo permission have inspiration from your clothing designs when i run off to design school. might as wel get it out of the way now so you dont give me a big fat lawsuit or something later when you spot a chick wearing a bandage and iron chain haulter top. they are truely inspiring. and greatness deserves great exposure.

okay, matt. here we go.
the colouring on the pants is great. its amazing, i love it. you did the wrinkles just right and you used the right colours, great job. the rest of this, i'm not so sure. halcyon's torso is much too long. and its funny how you go to everyone on earth's gallery claiming they ripped off halcyon when these are supposed to be two different characters. if you saw the girl on the left on someone else's website, i'm sure you'd jump at their throats.
to be completely honest with you, i don't like how you draw faces. like.. in freefall? i was in awe of that picture until i looked at her face. it completely ruined it for me, she looked like a kid with downs syndrome. this picture isn't much of an acception. it looks like a completely different person drew the faces. they're awkward. the eyes are too far apart, the chins are too small. nobody really has a forehead. i know its anime styled but you're really, really pushing it. maybe if the girl on the left's hair borrowed some detail from the pants, it might look a little better too. anyway, i admit i really do love the way you colour, you're very talented in that area. if you worked more on the character's faces and anatomy, it would really pull together and your artwork would just be that much better. not attacking you, just critisizing. it's allowed. cope. have a nice day..

youre right about hals legs... but, the legs dont bother me so much as the loooong ass torso. but you could just play that off as a unique style of yours. so who gives a damn, cause it looks dandy.

Well those hours of cell shading were worth it, it's amazing! Very very good job. But you re right about Hal's legs, they bother me. other than that i like the composition. Does Hal has curly hair now? There IS something different.. maybe to contrast Emie's hair?

No, the girl's legs don't looks too short, just...her belly button is so low, if you moved that up, then moved the skirt up a bit too with that, it would be fine. *that's for the second girl, the one in red*
Anyway, very cute picture, very very cute. I like the eye style. I think cell shading is hard also. And the bg is fine for this kind of picture.
