This has been another ongoing and almost-given-up-on project, mainly because I can't decide on how to finish it. That's where my precious, precious commenters come in. I'd greatly appreciate feedback on this one, mainly concerning coloring ideas. Feel free to give me any advice you want. These are the options I'm currently considering:1) Leave it pretty much as is, with everything but Samus as a sketch, but redo the text and Title
2) Halfass cel-shade the non-Samus characters, leaving Samus fully rendered for emphasis
3) Halfass painting-style CG the non-Samus characters, leaving Samus fully rendered for emphasis
4) Full-ass cel-shade everything
5) Full-ass cel-shade everything but de-emphasize all non-Samus characters by means of dimmer or darker colors, etc.
Those are pretty much my ideas right now. I'm leaning toward #2 and #5.
Any other critique is welcome.
All sketches were done separately on several sheets of paper, then composed in Photoshop 7.

I rekon u should blur the other figures out if you colour them, so that you get a perspective of Samus standing alone....

I think you have to go with the full on shade for this, definitely. But your right dim down the non Samus characters. Maybe a canvas effect on the background and overlay a cool sketchy border. That would look pretty sweet. But I could also see some earthy colors for the background and some metallic or glows for the creatures. But you def. have to finish this one it's just too good a piece not too.

Definitely gonna favorite this once it's done. I love it so far, seriously. Samus is colored so well! Everything is just... gorgeous. It might be hard to color it all in with that giant metroid half-in/half-out, but you can figure it out, right?

Oh my god, please please do finish it. I don't think I've ever seen a rendition of Samus without her helmet on that I've liked very much until I saw this and I love the whole concept and the way you've laid it out and ... well everything

I really like your idea for #5. I think you should definitely go with that. However, if you can, I would like to see this whole pic done in a sort of realistic type of coloring and shading. Now, I know how hard that is, I still can't do it. Perhaps that's why I like that style so much, but if you know how to do it, then I would love to see this pic colored in that way. Of course, if that's not your thing, then I really like idea #5

Awesome composition! I love the way you blended all those sketches together and made Samus stand out with her being colored! It looks so elaborate and makes me focus on Samus alone while acknowledging the monsters she fights around her.

Lovely work and composition. If I were you I'd make and emphasis on samus but not half ass other the characters around her. Maybe make the background behind the non samus characters like the metroid prime start screen. I hope u finish it.

Honestly, it has just the right blend of sketchy, rough-edged fantasy style and that wonderful SF flavor which made the Metroid series so great. I bet you could guess my opinion on what to do next---I prefer option #1. Yes, this is just a bout perfect, I'd say. If I could, I would get a poster of this and hang it. Nicely done, nicely done.

I think it would look marvelous if you just lightly colored in the background. Use a lighter pallette for everything else, with a lower opacity. It would be all the hottness, though it already is now.

This is to be one of your best fanart pieces ever created. I can definitely see that.
There is so much awe that is experienced when I see this. So much beauty and depth beyond all I've seen in such work.
I would probably suggest a combo between Option 2 and Option 3. Have the portions around Samus cel-shaded in a mono-or-dichromatic style, and add a hint of haze to certain parts.
