Personally, I like the Rook. the best. The Rook. A corner castle with wings? Who wouldn't want to look up at that! Oh, but the eyes... hmm. Wings > eyes, imho. This whole set up is genius. I think someone should turn this into a real chess board. The design is superb. Although, team work with the bishop and the rook, okay, I'm in love with the ink designs. That is all.

I love your penwork. The wings on the rook seems out of place though. It's got this cool beetlejuice/nightmare before christmas vibe. But then...white angel wings. Is there a thought behind it? (not trolling)

Hmm now you mention it, it is strange haha.
I actually just picked elements I really like to use, my intension wasn't (isn't) 'Oh yes, today I'm going to make Alice in Wonderland meets Tim Burton art!'
I like creating a world of vague stuff, for me it feels distant yet inspiring. And if I think of angel wings, it feels like something of pure beauty between chaos and vagueness. I think. Haha, does this make any sense?

It does.....why the Rook though? every other piece is usually represented buy a human or an animal.
I'm pretty bad at strange and creepy, so I DO say "today I'm going to make Alice in Wonderland meets Tim Burton art" and it usually ends up looking like cartoony cosplay LOL.

Hmm. I think the rest would be too obvious. The king/queen/bishop/pawn would be angels and the horse pegasus, while the rook is something 'unpredictable'
