Love the colours here.
(it has a lot of Renaissance once again - makes me think of Leonardo's devices)

The dimmed lighting keeps a tense mood. Nice photograph! Maybe you add a vignette to enchance the mood?

Interesting as both my guesses were in the right area Wooden teeth on metal wheels were usually to prevent sparks
and mines were dangerous places (Firedamp)

Don't think these went down the mine did they?
In the Cornish Tin Mines they were housed in big
Wheel Houses on the surface.

ur prob right about not being down the mines but i dont know what date that thing is most mine pumps had beam engines in the early days of steam "Newcomen 1712" which is why i though a flour mill or a canal pump ...

I should pay more attention..i was just drawn to the big wheel with the teeth and didn't read the guff.I think it probably had to do with James Watt as it was in the National Museum in Edinburgh.

I have just had a brief looksie at Watt's pumps (Boulton & Watt) and i see no wooden cog teeth All the Watt engines and esp the pumps were Iron or steel ..i see no reason for wooden teeth .....(I worked in R&D making pumps for 2 years )the only example ive seen for wooden teeth (In a metal wheel were for anti sparking reasons usually flour mills)..I will do further research
I just uploaded some real cogs lol on a new piccy :iconwheelplz:

And it's connected to the internet and the password is "Earth". (Here in NL a number of villages were recently found to have major waterworks connected to the internets with the name of the village as the password. In short, any school kid could have flooded each of those villages!)

It is indeed and I have been messing about with the rotation of the Earth
and nobody has even noticed?@ the Dutch waterworks..I didn't know they were so technologically
advanced.I thought it was just a case of lots of small boys with their
fingers stuck in the holes of the dykes...actually that sounds a bit risque.

"I didn't know the Dutch waterworks were so technologically advanced" "I didn't know there is a lot of snow and ice on the South Pole, I always thought of it as a tropical paradise with lots of tanned people and a local drugs mafia" Tsss...

I was joking you know ...A bunch of Dutch people came over here way back
(300 years or so) to drain the huge expanse of bog land that lies at the
bottom of my hill...such was their technological expertise.
I think they asked before they drained it.

Sorry..its just that you had put what I'd written in parenthesis
which made me think that you'd thought I'd been being serious about
what I'd written. You'd all be several foot underwater if the Dutch were
not masters in that department after all.

Not me, I live 80m above sea level, no less! I do have to pay water management taxes, I disagree with that but "they" say I have to pay out of solidarity with my compatriots. I still disagree!

Hmm..."they" might have a point otherwise you would not
be able to live as most of your country would be under water.
There would be no shops in which to buy Vla or Maasdammer.

My mom used to call me a billygoat because I had a habit of taking life head-on. Which gives me a certain connection with those friendly and utterly destructive creatures, which will eat anything which isn't steel or concrete, and probably even steel and concrete if nothing else is available.
