Have you tried playing with the contrast and brightness, once the image is complete?
I found that by doing this, it can help to give the illusion of greater depth.

I do not play all the time with, but yes playing more or less with the contrast and brightness
it readjust a little depth but we lose some details (color, grain) in some places.
Once the image finished I go back the saturation of some degree, between 10 and 20
the colors is fixed better, the image is sharper and more blurred at all.
This removes more ghosts especially red side and we see better the depth on the sides of the objects.
