Meaning: I am more than open to constructive criticism.
If you have any constructive critique for them, please do not hesitate to comment below with it! ^^
I also must ask that if you draw/write about him that you adhere to the rules I have set in place for my characters!
[Basically: Don't draw NSFW, hate speech, or fetish art of them, please! As all of those things makes me insanely uncomfortable! Thank you ^^]
(I really appreciate your interest, these rules are by no means meant to deter you, please follow them though, I love when people draw/write about my characters! as long as they follow the rules, at least, lol.)

-RELATIONSHIPS-
Family:
Father [Jack Harleston]- Not so good relations, his father is incredibly abusive.
Mother [Jenna Haleston]- Not so good, but they get along fairly well sometimes.
Older Sister [Maria Mary]- Barely ever interact, Blake loves her to hell and back.
Other Older Sister [???]- Never met her, knows nothing about her other than that she exists.
Grandparents[Mother's side]- an iffy relationship, not good, but not bad either.
Grandparents[Father's side]- Never knew his grandfather, heard he was just as abusive if not worse. Iffy relations with grandmother.
Friends:
Austin Prowler- His cat. Their relationship teeters on father and son to brothers frequently, due to Blake raising Austin, but Austin tending to have to help him do certain things.
Harvey- His dog. Very much a father/son dynamic, especially after Harvey got his own 'powers'.
Weed- Met at an addict's anonymous meeting, pretty good friends.
Other:
Loki Laufeyson- Copycat empathized with him and is pretty much the only follower Loki has. The only reason Loki gave him a chance was because of his potential usefulness as a result of his powers/abilities and his apparent loyalty. As time goes by, Copycat ends up developing a crush on him.
Death- The relationship between them is very odd. Like an 'on and off again' mother/son relationship? It's very complicated. But demons and other such creatures are known to refer to them as death being his mother. [Which, technically she is due to the deal, but let's not worry about that.]
-LIFE-
Super Power(s) Information:
- Feline shapeshifting: He can shapeshift into existing feline creatures, they always have black fur and brown eyes with a patch of white on the chest.
- Shape 'copying': Like with feline shape-shifting, he can shapeshift into anything he's seen in person. Given that it isn't a bug, fish, non-living thing, demon, or female. Along with this, he also takes the strengths and weaknesses of whatever he shapeshifts into, so, he can take the form of Spiderman and use all of his abilities, but also has his weaknesses while in that form. (Note: He cannot use powers that are granted from items, so he can't use ironsuit abilities, nor the powers of Mjolnir.) His eyes are always the same colour, his teeth are always the same, and his mental illnesses and mind are always the same. (So he can't access memories, nor remove his disabilites.) His mannerisms stick around regardless, so he has to actively not use slang/talk like he usually does. On top of that, he can only use powers that he's seen the individual use, so he can't climb walls as spiderman if he hasn't seen the real one do it beforehand. He also stays in whatever form he takes if he falls unconscious.
- Regenerative healing: He can heal fast and more effectively than most people
- Enhanced luck: His family [on his father's side]somehow has insanely potent luck, which is known to skip generations. Due to his strange enhancements, his luck was also increased, but often this increase is mainly focused on things like gambling.
- Feline physiology: His body has the abilities of a cat's, so: he often lands on his feet, he can stretch and contort his body wildly, and he can squeeze through most tight spaces. [He also has increased senses.]
- Super jumping: He can jump incredibly high and far, but this power also comes with a setback: If he's not careful, he'll do it automatically. So if he's excited, or 'hopping mad', there's a chance he'll do it without meaning to, and end up soaring up into the sky wondering where he went wrong. [As long as he lands on his feet afterwards, he'll be fine.]
[The abilities under this one are abilities he doesn't know about:] - Hellcat physiology: He can shapeshift into a hellcat, a demonic cat being. This transformation is mostly triggered by highly intense fear/anger. It also takes a while to kick in, so it might not happen if he isn't feeling said emotion long enough. While a hellcat, he loses all inhibitions and his negative emotions are boosted. Making him a bloodthirsty beast pretty much.
- Fire manipulation/breathing: Breathing fire is mostly constrained to his hellcat form, but it can be accessed normally [albeit a bit less powerfully] he just hasn't figured out how to access it normally. Same rules go for the manipulation as well.
- Corpse puppetry: He can manipulate corpses. The corpses, however, can 'break' from his hold if he loses focus, and if they do so, they'll often go on a rampage, even attacking him. Rigor Mortis is still a factor too, so their movements can be lessened.
- Soul stealing: A passive ability that steals the soul of whatever's corpse he steps over/onto. It must be within a certain time frame of course, but he can still do it. The souls are used to puppet the corpses, thus why they can break from his hold, they also have other uses, but those are unknown atm. These souls can also be taken by Death, demons, etc.
- Agelessness: He's immune to ageing now. After all, a corpse can't age, can it?
Strengths:
- Enhanced speed, stealth, and durability.
- People around him get a boost in magic power. (He can't control this, it's just a constant thing. Yet another reason Loki sees him as useful.)
- He's a fast learner (At least when it comes to things he has an interest in)
- His powers also change the clothes he's wearing at the time. Thus, why he doesn't need to refurbish his costume over and over again.
- He has retractable, thick cat-like claws on his hands and feet.
- His feline shapeshifting ability, as well as his copying ability, are pretty versatile.
- His regenerative healing is VERY strong. Not as strong as Deadpool or wolverine's, though.
Weaknesses:
- ...I mean, he has Autism and ADHD. (Finds it hard to stay still, finds it hard to concentrate sometimes, etc.)
- He has body dysmorphia, and always sees all the flaws with his own appearance and personality.
- He has terrible motion sickness and can get it very easily. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, he gets it bad.
- He's a people pleaser, as a result, he does everything in his power to try and make people happy, often even when it's to his own detriment.
- He gets addicted to things very easily.
- When taxed too much in regenerative healing, he'll be forcibly turned to his cat form as a way to save energy. (His shapeshifting will be completely deactivated when this happens.)
- He's near-sighted and finds it hard to discern detail and print from more than five feet away.
- He has depression and suicidal thoughts as well, so bad that he almost committed suicide on a few separate occasions in his past.
- Birds just hate him. There are occasional exceptions, but 99% of the time, any bird who sees him will just hate him automatically.
- He bottles up his emotions and pretends everything is fine. ...it's not fine.
- His cat-like physiology makes him susceptible to catnip.
- He tends to take shortcuts and pursue easier paths when faced with decisions. Often the only reason he won't is when he personally feels that said path isn't an option.
- He is incapable of setting foot in churches. It doesn't hurt him or anything, he's literally repelled by them, like a magnet.
- Holy imagery, like crosses, gives Blake a terribly uncomfortable feeling when touched by them. This can often lead to dry-heaving and uncontrollable trembling/shivering.
Hobbies: Drawing, Writing, Playing video games, Swimming
Disorder(s): Autism, ADHD, Body dysmorphia, Depression, Social anxiety
-BACKSTORY-
Origin:
Blake's granddad wasn't the best man, he did drugs, drank alcohol, was sent to prison, and overall was just a very...unsavory man. While is prison though, he realized what he was doing with his life, and prayed that he wanted to leave and have a real family of his own.
Though it was not God that heard him, nor an angel, no, it was the ears of a different being. Suddenly, a woman, draped in black, appeared. Death herself. She told him that he would use her might to get him out in return for something. What did he need to give in return? His first grandson, regardless of race, creed, etc would be hers. No matter how much Blake's grandfather asked, she refused to tell him why she wanted the child.
Blake's grandfather accepted regardless.
The next day, as if by magic, he was released from prison with all charges dropped. He drove off and met an old-fashioned Christian woman, and the next thing he knew, they had a son. This was when he remembered the deal he made, which he told his wife shortly after the birth of their son. His wife was furious, telling him off for committing the foul sin: 'Making deals with the devil'. She filed for divorce soon after, remarrying, and vowed to cut her ex-husband out of their lives forever.
Raising her son, unaware that her ex-husband was still seeing him every so often, bringing him into drinking, drug use, etc. Blake's grandmother moved them all away from her ex-husband after she found out, moving far into the country. In the country, Blake's dad met a woman and had a daughter. To his grandmother's relief. However, they broke up soon after, and Blake's father finally met her, Blake's mother. Who, like Blake's father, had a daughter with a man she split up with long ago.
Childhood:
Blake's parents had him, his grandmother never told them about the 'curse', but he was dragged to church by his grandmother as much as possible anyway. Soon after he was baptized though, his parents stopped taking him. His parents moved away, to an even more religious neighborhood, and soon, pulled Blake out of schooling entirely. For most of Blake's childhood, he stayed with his parents 24/7 in the same house, never being allowed to go anywhere. Being the literal definition of a 'Bastard', until he was seven when his parents finally got married.
Blake took in a stray cat, who he named Austin, and soon took in a dog that he named 'Harvey' after a character from a comic book. Blake, for all intents and purposes, was raised by the internet, as his parents spent their time alone and away from him, or fighting with one another, sometimes physically.
His only true solace became his sister, his pets, and drawing. Every day when a fight would break out between his parents, his sister would pull him into her room so he wouldn't get caught in the crossfire. She even promised him that she would take him with her once she had enough money to leave, stressing this every opportunity she could. It became that he relied on these things to keep going, until his sister moved away leaving him in the dust and rarely talking to him as she suddenly became famous.
Soon, Blake realized how toxic his parents were being, how often they argued, how his father would constantly hurt him and his mother. Leaving bruises on occasion, along with neglecting him, whilst at the same time, never letting him decide things for himself. Even going so far as getting him into drinking as well, before he was even eighteen years old.
After his sister left though, his parents got worse.
This all came to a head when he attempted suicide twice in his home. The first time, he was stopped by Austin, who jumped onto his lap, unknowingly saving his life. The second time, though? He took a knife from the kitchen, ready to do it. But, before he could do so... there she was. Death herself, with her hand firmly grasping his, stopping him from plunging the blade in his neck.
He didn't attempt it again in that house after that. But they moved soon after, moving to a place a little while away from Newyork.
Soon after, Blake ended up using alcohol and drugs as a coping mechanism. Taking large amounts of alcohol and even stealing it on occasion so he'd feel better about the life he was stuck in. Unable to get a job, unable to move out, and having no friends or family to turn to.
This was the point when he realized he was trans. But he refused to admit it at first. He felt a dangerous feeling in his body about it, feeling like it might not be true and he'd be building his identity around something he wouldn't agree with within a few months time. But months passed, he felt the same. Years passed, he still felt the same. By the time he was sixteen, he finally let loose, coming out to his parents in an argument. This...didn't bode well for him.
His father and mother, as well as his grandparents, began to bully and tease him for it, refusing to use his pronouns, telling him they would 'tell him the truth', etc. Thankfully though, after the first wave of this, his family calmed down for the most part, though a few of them still refused to calm him 'he'.
'Gaining' his powers:
One night, he walked out of his home while his parents were asleep to get some fresh air, something he did fairly regularly. As he stood, however, he noticed Austin had followed him out the door. Austin ran out into the yard towards the road, and Blake, afraid he'd get run over, chased after him. They ran into the [at the time] empty street, Where Blake caught him, but noticed headlights blink on out of nowhere. A truck transporting barrels of a strange substance to NY swerved and ran him over. Killing him and dumping the mysterious radioactive ooze all over him and Austin.
He arrived before death herself in purgatory, but from there, he doesn't remember what happened. All he remembers is seeing death's face, then waking up in a morgue. The morgue attendants obviously called his parents, who came to pick him up. Only for Blake to find out that his parents planned to get rid of his pets after they found him dead. Though this didn't surprise him. Thankfully though they didn't get the chance to do so before he 'woke up'.
Soon, he found that he was gifted his powers, but was unsure about whether they came from death, or from some other powerful force. He also found that somehow, his death alongside Austin gave the cat power as well, granting him human-like intelligence and psychic abilities. They decided to keep this secret from his parents as best as they could.
Austin then had an idea: Blake becomes a superhero and goes to Newyork! Surely, if he went there, he could find some organization or something that could take him in instead of having to stay with his parents, right? Blake was reluctant at first but eventually went along with it. Scrapping together as much clothing as he could and fashioning a costume from what he could find.
Bad/Good first impressions:
He found himself in S.H.E.I.L.D's helicarrier, joy overwhelming him as he finally got a chance to get away. However, coincidentally someone was being escorted at the same time. A certain Asgardian god known for mischief and tricks. Of course, Blake recognized him from news coverage and asked about him. Soon, [with a little curiosity-fueled digging] he learned about what happened between him and Thor, and...was overcome with a sense of empathy for him.
Something about the idea of being lied to by your family, cheated, and almost...ostracized. It made the knowledge he was locked up in there feel...familiar. Blake obviously knew Loki wasn't a saint, but really, who was? After a little while of pondering, he decided to do something about it.
When nobody was around, he used his powers to help Loki escape. Soon though, he was found out and labelled as some kind of villain for doing so. Though he understood why; it still hurt to lose his chance at freedom nonetheless. [Then again, he probably would've done something similar later anyway, so-] With It now being open season on him, he fled as fast as possible, only to be chastised by Austin later for doing something so stupid. Though of course, Blake explained, trying to get Austin to see why he did it.
Next thing he knew, Blake [Who started using 'Copycat' as his alternate identity.] began visiting New York frequently, only to run into Loki one night. Loki recognized him immediately and after some light chit-chat, Loki gave him an offer. His shapeshifting powers and cat-like abilities seemed fairly useful, someone like him could easily be an asset to him and what he was trying to do.
...Copycat hesitated at first but agreed to be a follower of his. Eventually becoming a routine of Blake pretending to go outside to 'go for a walk' only to go to New York and find Loki. It was only a matter of time before the public and the avengers [Especially Thor]caught wind of Copycat's apparent partnership with Loki.
Spoilers:
His powers weren't actually 'gifted' to him necessarily, but where always available with one simple condition: He'd have to die to receive them. This is due to his technically being the son of death due to the deal his grandfather made. As a result, he wasn't 'brought back to life' necessarily, so he's technically a spirit/demon of some sort, rendering him incapable of age, as, dead people don't age.
As a result of the deal and becoming a spirit of death, he's barred from setting foot into heaven.
-Extra/Trivia-
- He hates bitter flavours but loves every other kind.
- He's very good at cooking, with a great palate, he can season and spice using smell alone.
- Black isn't his natural hair colour, he dyes it black.
- He doesn't like people standing directly behind him
- He likes making references to media he likes.
- He swears like a sailor, just about every two words of every sentence this man says is f-bombs.
- He's a mythology nut.
- He has a massive sweet-tooth and a very unhealthy diet. If his alcoholism isn't already an indicator of that.
- He despises children, and will actively avoid them if possible.
- His father has a hydra tattoo. [Yes, THAT hydra.]
- His abilities, associations with death, and demon-ish theme are based on the Bakeneko, Nekomata, and a being from one of my ancestral roots: Cat-sìth. As well as taking some inspiration from the myth of black cats being used by witches as familiars to make their spells more powerful. AND using inspiration from Egyptian and Scandinavian folklore of cats being used to pull the chariots of each mythos' goddess of war. [Bast and Freya, who were both said to ride gold chariots pulled by two large black cats, of which Freya's were given to her by Thor.] As well as the pretty universal association cats have with death and fire.
- As you can see by the above, it makes my choices in terms of how his character goes make much more sense [I hope.] their association with gods [particularly in Scandinavian lore] being one of the reasons he ends up meeting and subsequently forming a bond [of some sort.] with Loki.
