Description

Passing the old dilapidated and abandoned grey building on your way home you heard chains rattle quietly. The building had been known for being a bit of a hangout for trouble makers, but some idiotic feeling told you to go check out the noise today, even though you've never cared to go near the place before. It was day light after all, it should be a little safer. Right?

Quietly you snuck around the side of the building, if there was anyone who would give you trouble maybe they wouldn't spot you and you could get away.

You heard the chains again.

Stepping around the corner of the building to the back side you froze in your steps and gasped. There was a boy with midnight black hair, sitting about a foot from the crumbling gray brick, he wore a ripped gray cloak that didn't bother so cover much of his chest, and black pants without any socks or shoes. There were small cuts littering his right arm, but that wasn't what got your attention, no.

Beautiful white wings were protruding out of his shoulder blades and fluttering slightly in the gentle breeze as he watched the flowers in the field a ways in front of him.

His left arm was tightly restrained with a belt attached to a chain, similar chains where shackled around his ankles preventing him from going more than a few feet away from the wall where he was sitting.

"Oh, hello" he said in a quiet voice, giving you a small smile. His silvery eyes shinning like he was happy to see you, or rather, see anyone at all you figured.

You jolted back to reality, not noticing he had looked at you or even that you'd been staring at him in a trance for the last five minutes. You stuttered out some quick nonsense before finally getting out "Who are- what are you?" you asked astonished

He smiled at you kindly, seemingly not bothered that you had stared at him or possibly sounded a bit rude asking what he was as though he was a thing and unhuman, which was in fact partially true.

He smiled at your question, and looked down for a moment to think. His movements were slow and unhurried. He looked back up at you "I guess I am what you may call, an angel?" his wings flickered slightly as amusement shown in his eyes.

You didn't know what to say, he sure looked like an angel, but, angels aren't real, are they? and if they were, why would one be chained to the junky old building that had been waiting to collapse. You watched him slowly lift his right arm up, wincing from the cuts as he did so and a small robin flew onto his index finger, it stayed for a moment tweeting and hopping to turn around before flying away, back to its friends.

He smiled at the bird as it flew away. His wings tried to flap and stretch but weren't able to do the ropes around them. Whatever he was, he didn't seem very concerned about being chained or his cuts even as they pained him.

You swallowed thickly and took a few steps closer to the boy, he didn't seem dangerous in the least, especially so since he was also tied and chained to the wall. But even if he wasn't he seemed to kind to cause any harm anyway. Around here you could never be to sure though.

"If your an angel, why aren't you in heaven? and why would an angel be hurt and chained to an old warehouse in (town name)?" you said eyeing him suspiciously and walking closer to him, still safely out of reach.

He looked at you with the same gentle smile "Not all angels reside in heaven, some are like me, sent to watch over the earth's creatures. As to why I am in the place you call (town name), it is where I was sent to watch over." he looked back to the overgrown field and gestured to the wildflowers with his free arm "The flowers here are quite beautiful too, don't you agree?" his voice stayed quiet throughout everything he said as to not disturb something that wasn't there.

He let out a content sigh and stretched his wings as far as he could in his bindings when the sun's warmth shined on him. "My name is Kathiel by the way, what is yours?" he asked returning his attention to you

"Oh um, I'm (Y/n) and you are? wait no you just told me! sorry I didn't mean to and I'm just, ignore me." you fumbled then realizing he hadn't answered your earlier question, "Hey you didn't tell me, how'd you get all scratched up?" you asked again while gesturing to his wounded arm.

Kathiel's head perked up and he looked towards the far side of the building, a few seconds later shouting from a few people were heard though you couldn't make out what they were saying.

"It's time for you to go (Y/n), you should be going on you way. Thank you for visiting me, it was pleasant spending time with you" he had said something else but was just a whisper, to quiet for you to hear.

"Wait why do I need to be going? it isn't late and no one's waiting for me" you asked as the voices got closer.

He looked in the direction of the commotion and quickly looked back to you "Please (Y/n), go on your way for now. If you want to talk again, it'd not like I'm going anywhere" he shook his left arm causing the chain to rattle a bit. You could tell it was his attempt to joke but the slight urgency in his tone and pleading look in his eyes outshone the humor in it. You didn't want to bother him though, whatever his reason was for wanting you to leave all of a sudden.

You nodded though you didn't want to "Alright, I'll go. But don't expect me not to come back here Kathiel" you said eyeing him slightly before you left, who knew angels were so attractive?

You started to leave, taking one last glance at him, his gaze hadn't left you. Like he was making sure you were leaving. "I'll see you soon" you told him and with that said, ran around the side, away from the building. "Hurry" Kathiel said to himself hoping no one would notice you.

You had ran home after your encounter with Kathiel, but were eager to see him again. As soon as you were dressed you put some bandages and ointment for the cuts on Kathiel's arm in a bag along with a few other little things and set out for the old building again. Hopefully it'd be empty aside from you and the 'angel' awhile longer today.

Once you had some time to think about Kathiel and what you had seen you were concerned about the small cuts on him, they would surely get infected if left untreated and there wasn't anything around for him to clean them, actually as you recall, there was nothing around him except his bindings and fallen pieces of the old building.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

When you got back to the building, still being cautious and sneaking around the back quietly.

Kathiel sat quietly in the same spot as before, currently shaded from the early sun by the warehouse, but still as far away as the ropes and chains aloud. You walked up to him, no longer caring to skirt along the wall Kathiel turned hearing your light steps and smiled seeing your arrival.

When you got closer you noticed something new with him though, on his left cheek there was now a curved slice in his smooth skin and a bruise on his lower lip. Those definitely weren't there yesterday.

You quickly rushed over to him and lifted his head with your hands, examining the wounds and completely dismissing any thought he might harm you. You took a deep breath to calm your anger and turned his head to look at him rather than where he was hurt. His eyes were slightly widened and mouth agape, he was entirely surprised by your actions.

"Kathiel what happened to you?" your words laced with worry. His expression relaxed "There is nothing to worry about dear (Y/n), it just appears that not everyone is so accepting of angels here as you" he said in the same soft voice as before, smiling sadly.

You frowned. How is he not angry? he doesn't seem bothered that someone hurt him at all! "Come on Kathiel, your not planning on leaving these wounds like this are you?" his expression turned slightly confused, not understanding what you meant.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kathiel watched you fondly, smiling to himself as you patched up the small cuts and scratches on his arms and legs with tender care, it as nice to see a human being so caring. As he used to watch people interact before he was caught, most of them weren't very kind. And those he'd met personally before (Y/n), well they certainly were the opposite of caring to him.

It really did warm his heart watching you patch him up, there being no benefit to yourself. You were helping him just because you could, not because someone made you or asked you to.

You finished wrapping a cloth bandage up and around his forearm and sat back to admire your work, you were no expert in first aid but it should help him. You didn't bring anything that could help with the bruise on his lip and chin but that cut was a different story.

You carefully put a disinfectant ointment on his cut, careful not to hurt him. Kathiel hadn't seemed bothered at all by your persistence while patching him up, he didn't mind you being so close or moving up his clothing to reach his cuts and didn't fuss when it obviously cause him pain and discomfort.

you put a patch of gauze over his cut and used first aid tape to attach it, gently giving it a pat to stay on. Kathiel smiled at you, a gentle friendly smile which you couldn't help but return one. Giving it a quick thought you leaned closer to him and kissed the bandage "There you go, all better" you sat back happily.

Kathiel was confused at your actions, and not sure as to why it made him feel funny, with a pink tint on his cheeks he gave an even happier smile and bit into the apple you had given him.

For a little while you chatted together, asking how he got captured and all but he didn't know. "I just woke up here one morning a week or so ago, chained to this wall. I'm not quite sure what could have happened to me" he had said.

The sun started to set over the field, ahead of you both, and just as you had forgotten, and Kathiel had in the back of his mind dreaded, the same voices from the night before had returned, loud shouting of someone coming back to him again.

"It is time for you to go (Y/n) I appreciate you spending you day with me, but you must leave." he said and gently cupped your cheek with his right hand gliding his thumb across your skin.

"Oh no, not this time" you said while pulling a knife out of your pocket, first grabbing his arm and slicing off the belt, then getting to work to cut through the ropes around his wings. Kathiel watched toward the voices as they got louder, he could see the peoples' shadows they were almost there you had to go.

Kathiel pleaded for you to leave him, so much as to gently pushing you away now that his arms were free but you didn't listen. You pulling bolt cutters from your satchel and made quick work of the shackles on his feet. Just as the people were about to round the corner and see you both Kathiel did something unexpected.

He quickly wrapped his arms around you holding you close and flying you away from the warehouse. You let out a screech, not expecting the sudden lift off. A few minutes later Kathiel landed in a wooded area you recognized to not be far from your home.

"Thank you (Y/n), for your kindness" Kathiel said and kissed your head before wrapping you in another hug. He rested his forehead against yours "You really should be getting home now, it is getting quite late. The sun has almost set"

"But your free now, will I ever see you again?" you asked worried what if something happened to him? what if he somehow got captured again? "I assure you (Y/n), I will be safe here" he murmured watching in slight amusement that you would be worried about an angel such as himself.

"As I said, not all angels live in heaven. Some are sent to protect, act as a guardian of sorts and I am yours" he smiled and  stepped back from you "Now truly, you should be heading home, I would fly you but I wouldn't be so sure your family would be pleased about seeing me, guardians are not meant to be seen by anyone truthfully"

Seeing the sky clouding over, probably to rain and the sun going down you decided it might be best, you nodded. "But don't think your rid of me, I still have questions for you!" you exclaimed and leaned forward pecking his lips quickly before running off towards your house.

Kathiel smiled truly happy "And I will be more than pleased to answer them all, my love." 'maybe' he thought 'you were his guardian'

Of course! I like the idea, and the plot was great! Not to mention the way you executed it was great, and I found no grammatical or spelling errors! This story was amazing, and, if my assumptions are correct, you made an entire story based off of a single picture and were brave enough to put it out there for people to read. That, my friend, takes some serious guts.

Thank you! I try to read through but usually still have typos, and your assumptions are spot on! And I'm so glad there are a few people who like my little OC off a picture stories,
thank you for reading it and enjoying!

Of course! Again it was amazing, and it take some serious creativity to do that! You have to create an entire personality off of just someone's looks, and a story to go with it! You have some amazing skills, and I'm glad you're willing to share them!
