Inspired and Created for Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter Chronicles series . You CANNOT edit these or redistribute these in any fashion without expressed permission of Val Freire + Cassie Clare . I love getting ink'd and when I say these in the mortal instruments, all I could think about is having a series of these scrolling from the top of one arm, across my back and down the other arm.
As you have given you blessing for them to be tattooed upon our persons........I think I must approach my mate who is a tattooist.

5 million years late and probably not nearly as eloquent I would like for it to have been, but thanks for sharing this. I kept it in my inbox because I kept wanting to sit down and write something thoughtful, not spasmodic, not just because I like the tattoo and I appreciate you sharing it, but it's really intimate, not that all tattoo's aren't intimate but there is always an intimacy in the runes people pick but the placement and (from my p.o.v. maybe) it create an insight into the wearer. and I love it for that and this and you. so thanks, it's awesome. and if I can get into the swing of updating my facebook page again I'd love to share it, which you are welcome to say no and I can just stare at it in my own greedy privilege and bask in it's glory. either way thanks xx

It's totally alright! I really wasn't even expecting a response, just wanted to share it in case people might be interested. This tattoo is my first and it definitely has meaning for me and serves a a visible reminder, which is exactly what I wanted. You can absolutely post it on your facebook page, but if you want I could give you a better picture of it (especially since that one was taken right after it was done and you can see that it was bleeding a bit oops). Just let me know!

It means a lot to reach people, even if they respond negatively it still means people are affected by my work... of course I'd always prefer for it not to be negative but you know, you can't always get what you want.

where did you get your inspiration for these ruins? I keep thinking Japanese kanji and tribal put together.

At least with the first set and some of the latter ones. The midly ones I included other glyphs I studied, at least three but an asian influence never actually came into it aside from the fact that I drew hem out formally with my calligraphy brush & pen.
I apprenticed in a Tattoo shop in my teens so there is also that. I don't know that there is any formal application because it isn't like I went to school for any of this. just mostly fiddled till I got somewhere I Liked... because I like to fiddle. (´∀`)

I am writing my own book, and I want to use historical Sumerian cuneiform as my basis of design. The mortal instruments interested me when I realize the author had some of the same ideas as I had.....except I actual want my nephilim to be actual giants. Using the more historical reference of them. It's a totally different kind of book, but there are some small similarities. Except no downworlders or a school for shadowhunters or shadowhunters at all. But alot of awesome fighting and spirituality.

These are really awesome. I am so glad Cassandra asked you to design them into reality. They are very unique, unlike symbols I have seen before. I like how in the movie trailer they look more hand drawn than tattooed, like they would be. Fantastic job!
