Some of you might recognize this shot as an older one in my gallery. It was a while back when I uploaded that one and have learned a lot about processing since then, so I thought I'd re-process the image. This new one makes the old one look pathetic

Some background from that day, if you guys would like to read through it This was a very difficult time in my life. Not something I talk about very much. I knew that it would make me feel better to get out, so I drove and drove and drove all day, just looking for things to take pictures of. It had been getting increasingly more cloudy and I figured the day was about over. At that point I was driving on an isolated dirt road out in the country about 40 miles south of where I lived. I saw these mountain with the sun setting right behind them. Must have taken a good 50 shots or so of that (they didn't come out very good). I decided to head home after that and started driving. At my turn the road went straight and I thought I'd just go straight to see what was over there. I noticed the sky had been getting a little more color and I realized that there was a perfect window for the sun that allowed it to illuminate the underside of the cloudy sky. One instance of being in the right place at the right time I started snapping pictures. It is almost intimidating when the entire sky is bright, bright red, orange, and pink. A bit of a light in the dark time of my life
