Description I've been experimenting with HDR shots and man they aren't easy.

Oh and the reason the water looks somewhat interesting is because it was partially frozen over

Very nice shot! (well 3 shots probably ) I agree that HDR is quite hard to get right...I'm still struggling to get good results, you are well on the way by the looks of it!

HDR's do take a little time to master. Just about everyone who ventures into it always experience the same problems right off the bat, namely the halo effect. I admit, I was guilty of this too in my early HDR's, but now that I've got accustomed to tonemapping, it's a lot easier to avoid. Keep playing around and soon enough you'll get the hang of it... As far as this specific image goes, it looks like the tones are very very cool. The snow looks blue, not white as it should. Due to the warmer tones in the sky, it looks quite unnatural to me. There is also a lot of detail lost in the trees where you set the black point too high. HDR is meant to show the detail in these shadows (and highlights) so this amount of black almost defeats the purpose.

I hope my critiques are helpful to you. I see you have a lot of potential

Thanks a bunch this shot was basically broken to begin with, but I wanted to see what I could do with it. I appreciate your comments though. they will definitely help in the future

Love it!
Damn you got some beautiful nature around you. Even though I live in sweden and thereΒ΄s suposed to be nice nature here too, I find it kinda boring because we have no hills and valleys and itΒ΄s just flat forrest :/
And we have no f-ing snow :@:@:@ It keeps melting all the time!

Anyway; nice shot, nice angle, the colours in the sky give the picture this little something you need to make a shot like this interesting, and you fully suceeded, as always...

Thank you! Oh man, I guess I always did get the impression Sweden was quite beautiful. The snow melts pretty fast around here as well, except for in the mountains where this picture was taken. There's a good chance this snow will be on the ground till summer
