>.> India and England again.for those who are curious, my excuse for England having pierced ears, both of them, is that he couldn't remember which ear was the "gay ear", was drunk, and said "FUCK IT! DO 'EM BOTH!"
Lex: >.> it'll hurt twice as much...
Arthur: I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!

believe me... you're making my day or whatever nicer. I've seen at least two people get very, Very uppity about England/India as a pairing toward not just me but my friend who made up India. I'm glad to see people who enjoy rather than hate today.

Yeah I saw that comment and I made a reply on one of her Journals saying:
"Everyone can interperate history in different ways, and as such everyone can interperate Hetalia in different ways. From what I see it's pointless to argue over Hetalia pairings from a historical view since some people take history in the fandom very seriously and some just see it as a crack funny series."
I don't really get people who become too obsessed with their fave pairings. It seems like you just condemn yourself to a life of arguing with people who either historically don't agree with you, or who just like the series cause it's cute and so don't think about the layers of history behind their pairings.
Any historian could make a robust defense of the pairing anyhow, I just always avoid getting dragged into historical arguments on the Internet because it's a silly place in which to try and make a thoughtful argument.

yeah. I'm one that gets heated about history, but usually toward people who ought to know better and don't. I tend to get Mexicans who tell me America Stole Texas from Mexico and then refuse to remember that Texas Rebelled and Won independence rather than America stepping in to take Texas. I attribute this to a severe bias against America in the Mexican school systems as well as our own. (Seriously, I've seen more kids these days who lack the knowledge I had when I was their age and I got the same education! It's a requirement in Texas to get Texas History one year in middle school.)
but yeah. Alex takes things a lot better and I never really do. I try not to let myself go into a rage, but it happens.

Yeah totally the problem with Hetalia is that it's so easy to fall into serious historical debates which can arise real passions in people. As much as I love the series it doesn't half come with a lot of drama sometimes -sigh-

yeah. XD;; Doesn't stop me from drawing drama, though. Drawing Arthur having horrible, traumatizing dreams.

Ah well, just draw what you like I'd say, you can't stop drama but it'd be a shame for you to not draw exactly what you want!

There were Indians that liked being part of the British Empire as well as those that didn't. India herself is not her government, but her people, just like England was not his Queen, but his people. If you have issues with our interpretation I suggest you just leave.
