hey, was Macross Frontier a good anime (romance-wise)? I looked it over once but i skipped it because the girl looked too much like a dude.

Yeah its pretty good. Well he does look like a girl but part of his story is that he performs in all men kabuki theater where he plays female characters, so you can forgive it. It this point I think you should save yourself some time and watch the two movies. There are a few little ridiculously silly moments in them but they are still good.
