Yeah, I know, crappy title. Couldn't think of anything better.I was originally going to write a little phrase next to her. "If you move too slowly... The past will catch up with you" or something like that, but I didn't want to ruin it. The first thing my brother said when he saw it was 'boobies'. Yes, her boobs are big, and I didn't want to distract from the picture or anything, but generally all comic girls look like they have implants.
To get on with the ACTUAL picture, I was inspired by Ed Benes's work from Bird of Prey. I recently started on it and it has become my favorite comic. I was trying to create the image of her reaching for her sword, but her hand looks a little weird. I need to work on my 'shiny' technique a bit too... but overall I'm really proud of this pic.

hehe, no problemo! I've done much stupider things when commenting on pictures (confusing guyf for girls, calling them by the wrong name, ect) and it's no biggie. I could see how this would be confusing though; it does look like Shiva in BoP. Maybe I'll do a team up drawing next!

that would be awsome.. but now that you mention it the other day (and i still feel very very humiliated about this..) i was checking through the jlu club members seraching for nice galleries to watch.. and i saw the icon of a member of the club that had a gorgeous guy looking down.. and i got curious you know? just who is this perfect piece of a man.. so i ask the owner of the icon who the handsome man in the picture is and he answers: "the hot guy in the pic of my icon?.. uh thats me.. im a chick!! .. fuck i felt horrible.. i mean i never ment to offend her but.. oh gosh.. that was so stupid.. sorry for making you read all this..

ok i just checked and shes.. the fifht (vertically) from the first row i think it said fallen aurora or something like that... hey but dont tell her it was me!! shell think im mocking her in public... and i already feel bad.. tho im pretty sure im the only stupid that thought she was a guy... but i mean tell me she doesnt look a bit like orlando bloom meets... well another hot guy... and i know that sounds pretty fucked up but she does XD!!

That's what I thought. I never really practiced hands, so they end up looking a little akward when I add them to a character. I've started practicing though! Nothing like a boring lecture in class to brush up on my hand-drawing-skills.

Er, I've never heard of Kubert School, and I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, but I don't really know what sequential art is. I'm self-taught mainly and use comic-books for references, so I don't know the finer details of art.

The Kubert school is a legit school for comic book artists. A lot of people that are famous comic book artists now went there.
Sequential art is like a couple of images explaining a story. You could come up with some little scene that you want to portray, and then use a few pages (and cells) to explain that story. This is what all comic book editors look for when they look at submissions from people trying to get into the biz. It's your ability to tell a story that they're looking for.

As for sequential art, yes, I have a couple of pages. I've done that stuff since sixth grade now that I think about it, but I've always been too embarassed to post them cause the art is so crappy (I mainly do them for fun
