Description
The tree cave, mysterious in it's manner on being, disguised as an earthly entity, the presence of an evil power lurks in the cave of the tree-I spent way too long on this piece and I figure I might as well explain the steps I take to make a piece like this....
1. I find most of the stocks I use...I have a general idea....then I have the BG in this case it was jus some ruins and grass
2. Then i render all my stocks...wut does that mean....I cut them out from their backgrounds
3. Then I do the lighting and shadows and darkening for each piece, this can take quite a long time as the size and angle and direction of the shadow matters...
4. At this point i had a version one where everything looked realistic but it was somewhat boring and didn't look too scary....to those without experience it looked just like a photo "erm what did you do?" and all photo mannipers love that criticism.
5. I then got a few suggestions and added the reaper with all the rendering, lighting, and shadowing and added some fog as well....added a few adjustments to the previous ones i alrdy had and BAM!

Very nice piece, reminds me of Pan's Labyrinth but these look like almost the pyramids in the background lol. So its an Egyptian Pan's Labyrinth.
Alright silliness aside.
Very nice piece, already faved it. I adore the monotone and mysterious nature of it. The foggy background is great, and the guards in this piece are quite a nice touch indeed. And that tree, that tree is absolutely wicked, I would love to climb that thing sometime...
