This is my entry to 's cryptid contest
104- KOMAROW (Kongamato+Marrow)
-Ground/Flying
-Scavenger PokΓ©mon
-Ability: Keen Eye/Immunity
"This little Pokemon is weak and delicate, so instead of taking meals, it prefers to feed off creatures that are already dead. It flies in flocks of several dozen that circle through the sky during the day, roosting on cliffs at night. They are very patient; when they find a carcass, they will wait for hours for it to decay somewhat before eating it."
105- ROPENGER (Ropen+Scavenger)
-Ground/Flying
-Grave Digger PokΓ©mon
-Ability: Keen Eye/Immunity
-Evolves from KOMOTO @ lvl. 35
"More powerful and dangerous than its predecessor, ROPENGER's wings are very strong and its claws are very sharp. As well as taking dead and decaying corpses that it digs from the earth, it will swoop off cliffs to snatch up live prey caught out in the open. Versatile and adaptable, it will even eat any vegetable matter; is particularly fond of GNOFU."

These Pokemon are based off the Kongamoto and the Ropen, two cryptids that are based off pterodactyls/pterosaurs [link] [link]
There is also a subtle side reference if you can spot what it is.

I kind of expected it to be more of a Ghost/Flying type than a Ground/Flying type.

This design is actually very clever. The cryptids on which these are based are believed to be living members of extinct groups; how else to show that by making them living corpses?

I browsed your gallery and this one really stood out. The skulls on the two are fantastic, they look so menacing and quite, respectively. The poses are also really good, especially on the feet and tail. Keep up the awesome work

I would try naming the little guy Komato, but that sound a bit too much like Tomato or Potato (lame!

The first time I heard the term I thought it was Kongamoto. But I think the Wikipedia article spells it Kongamato. I could change it if you like.
Srsly, there isn't. There were a huge variety of pterosaurs out there, so we don't have to include just Aerodactyl on the pterosaur Pokemon roster. I'm even making a pterosaur fossil for my region

Yeah, that was deliberate. I noticed that several other bone-covered fakemon have that Hollow quality to them, so I thought that making a Hollow Pokemon would really keep the death theme going
