SPARKUPINE is one of my favorite Mento Pokemon, partly due to its unique type combination. I've seen a few other Electric/Ground types, but this one holds a place in my soul just because. He will be one of two Mento Electric-types to recieve an evolution via a Thunder Stone - the other, of course, is Draxx, who happens to be directly after lil' Sparky in the Mento dex.
The evo for Sparkupine is based off a porcupine (duh), but I also took a thread from the capybara, the world's largest rodent.

SHOCKUPINE (Shock+Porcupine)
- Electric/Ground
- Porcupine Pokemon
- Height: 4'
- Ability: Static/Lightningrod
- Evolves from SPARKUPINE with a Thunder Stone
- "In a similar manner to its pre-evolution, SHOCKUPINE's Ground-type allows it to store far more electricity than any other Electric-type - even SPARKUPINE. Said electricity is absorbed from the ground through its paws and collected in its ten-inch-long razor-sharp quills, each of which can cut loose with up to 100,000 volts. Despite popular belief, however, SHOCKUPINE (like its pre-evolution) cannot actually shoot its quills - when threatened, it will erect them and thrash its powerful tail to fling them at an opponent."
