the sulturn originated on the same home world as yurimao,
which has now been destroyed.
they are connected to the yurimao in a very spiritual way...
and are much closer than you may have previously thought.

there are of course portals between our world and never, which is how humans come up in this lore.
they are a destructive, greedy, selfish species, and do not have the technology capable of self preservation in comparison to the neverlings that try to eradicate them.
they do not live in harmony with their habitat, they seek to make their habitat more suitable for them, with little regard for the species that were there long before them.
the humans that lasted the longest were the sorcerers capable of harnessing magic, and used animals to further their experiments in their fight for power.
yurimao and sulturn's home planet was the only place where humans accessed and settled successfully, as they were the only intelligent species there at that time.

sulturn were canine's bred by human 'sorcerers'
whose population have dwindled to a few evil individuals
these canine's were used as slaves, fighting,
and horrendously experimented on.
they never lived to adulthood unless kept as breeding stock,
which is why they are always puppies.
domesticated canine's have kind, pure hearts,
which made them such an easy target for farming.
their lives were colourless...
one day the serpent god appeared before them
"take in one of my scales...
AND FIND YOUR INNER LIGHT"
and so the canine's did, they gained beautiful colours,
amazing traits such as wings and horns,
and used this liberation to escape their former masters.
their souls greeted them
and became their friend
the god led them to sactuary
never is a dangerous place for a wandering soul,
the sulturn crafted lanterns to house their own.
the serpent god may have led them to salvation,
but they still had another choice to make.
