What really gets me is the lighting. It's like woah. That effect is incredible.

I really like this - I think it's very powerful in it's simplictiy. Her pose looks wonderful; she looks like she's trying to comfort herself from something terrible, and I think her disarrayed hair adds to that sense that something bad has happened to her. And the desolate lighting on her body reflects that even further.
But then the lighting on her face gives the impression that there is hope for her. The rosy color on her cheeks and lips and the vibrant blue of her eyes add a sense of peace and almost happiness to the photograph. And of course, it does a great job technically drawing the attention to her face.
This is a really good piece, and I think it's very worthy of a DD; this is probably like one of about three I actually felt moved me enough to comment on. So, keep up the awesome work, and congrats on getting this recognition.

Maria V shows some outstanding beauty here, despite some of the "flaw's" that some other deviants have picked out. I personally think that her hair looks amazing the way it is, having it well kept in this picture would take a lot of the personality away from it.
Her eyes show up so well in the lighting too, they are almost haunting in the contrast to the darkness in the rest of picture.
Congratulations on the Daily Deviation, it is well deserved.

wow, such an awesome photo, pity its rather small in size.
The expression and pose is magnificent, she looks cold and scared, but her face and eyes are incredible, her face seems to glow, with the light shining on it only.

Yes, but being an angel maybe she could be more illuminated. The pose and composition are right, but the light is too dim for the goal intended, I think.
