I FREAKING HATE YOU HATSUNE MIKU I HOPE YOU DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH IN A FIRE AND I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN. *sobs hysterically*
Why did I choose such a difficult image to reproduce? My reference: [link] . YES KEVIN I HAD TO CHOOSE AN IMAGE I COULD NOT CREATE THIS IMAGE OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD IT HAD TO BE REFERENCED FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE SO THERE. This was made by cutting out bits of color in magazine images and gluing them down to form a full image.
Apart from editing the colors slightly and cropping the image, the entire project was completed by hand. I stayed up two nights consecutively to finish it, it was my art final for freshman year.
And yes, I avoided doing the musical note on her shoulder and "miscounted" and "misplaced" the flowers on purpose.
Technical Information:
About a million different magazines
Probably something like three pairs of scissors
Two different bottles of glue
A needle (NO, I did not stab her with it, though I really wanted to)
A ruler for proportions
A combination of tablet, mouse, GIMP 2.6 and Picasa 3 to edit the image
Somewhere around...50 hours? It sounds insane but it's a pretty close estimate, I grant you.
P.S. I don't keep up with Vocaloid at all, I have no idea...who Hatsune Miku actually is. I like her hair color though.

Yeesh, finally! I looks amazing. I don't think I ever want to try this type of project again...it's so time consuming! I with you there, I spent many restless nights on mine. I was about to crumple my mosaic but I managed to curb my violent urge.

Gad, it's been a long time, hasn't it? ^^ I finally had the motivation to post it after sooooo long, but there was a lot of editing to do and it didn't even come out the way I wanted because my tablet was being jackassy and decided to stop functioning properly. (He's okay now, I rebooted.)
I hope I never have to do a project like this again either. If I do...maybe I can make it digital.
Ahh, but you were smart, you spread it out over several weeks. I practically finished mine in three days. *dead* I consumed so much coffee that my hands were shaking and I was filled with bouncing energy. Oh, the agony...sitting on the floor for that long...my legs starting cramping so badly that during the final night and the hours of dawn I had to get up every few minutes and lie down with my legs stretched out....
Enough. I'm not supposed to feel sorry for myself, it's done now. And I could so see you crumpling your mosaic. You'd set fire to it, wouldn't you? ^^

Well...it would take a lot of work, even digitally, but with about a million layers, it would still be much easier than doing it by hand. You really need to come over, especially since my classes are done now.
Yes, but you still had a week. I did mine in about three days. Big difference. And I haven't had a large dose of caffeine for a while, my body's probably still trying to recuperate from all that gunk at the end of the school year. XD I did have a cup of tea four nights ago though ^^
