I saw a stamp that says "Homestuck is better than Hetalia". So, I decided to say "Hetalia is better than Homestuck".But honestly, I tried to read Homestuck. It didn't go down too well. My eyes began scrunching up painfully. Part of it was because I didn't like the art. But just from the beginning, I really couldn't get into it. It just didn't appeal to me, to be honest. Not my cup of tea, you could say. From the beginning that I read, I didn't see a plot, although if I had continued, there probably would have been one.
I just couldn't handle it. I don't like it. At all. I honestly don't care if other people like it, though. It's fine if you're a fan.
I love Hetalia. It had a more interesting beginning, imo, with the funny world conference and stuff. I thought it was amusing, and it seemed to start out with a plot, although that kind of dwindled away in the later episodes. (I'm talking about the anime, not the manga). It just appealed to me more.
So therefore, in my opinion, Hetalia > Homestuck.
Hetalia has a shit fandom though.
However, from speaking with many Homestuck fans, they said that Homestuck also has a shitty fandom.
Some people say "But you can't compare the two". Maybe they're right.

Homestuck isn't unoriginal. That's a fact. It also does have humour, a shit ton of it, actually. It just doesn't make too much of an appearance during the first act (I know that the fandom keeps using that as a defense but whatever it's true). The humour is awesome >:]
The reason why hetalia sucks major ass is because it isn't funny and still manages to be offensive. IMO

i like em both but i do have to agree that hetalia is much more hilarious than homestuck but i do like the short animations homestuck does there is people doing hetastuck picks with the trolls and the countrys

from what my bf told me people who like Mlp/homestuck/hetalia usually don't like the other two o.o (I like all 3) I think its because they all involve different kinds of humor
Hetalia wasn't very memorable for me other than when Rome was singing in a gondola that was fucking hilarious

I don't want to get everyone mad, but I must say there needs to be at least one comment here with isn't biased toward one fandom or another. Therefor I will make it because I am a huge fan for both.
For the actual canon things for both, I will say that at least Homestuck has a plot. I will admit that the first act is complete shit, I just read because my friend kept bugging me about it, but once you get far enough you get absorbed into the interesting characters and the originality of the story. It is in many ways the most complex and thought out story I've ever read. True it is long and confusing at times but as for the web comic as a whole, definitely one of the best things ever written in my opinion.
As for Hetalia, I love it with all of my heart and soul. I find the jokes funny and the Historical references make the anime/manga far more educational (though not all of it) than Homestuck. As for some things that I did not like about it was how it was stereotypical and offensive toward some people. I donβt like how short the episodes are but out of all the anime Iβve seen, definitely better than most of them. The art is also better than Homestuck.
Both are great but they do have weak points, Homestuck has vulgar language while Hetalia is stereotypical, Homestuck is confusing while Hetalia has no plot, but all in all, both fandoms are retarded. Letβs stop arguing.

yeah, I agree but when I first watched it I was alittle sad how some of them were portrayed (though i admit I like most better than Humon's) since I have a very international family (I live in America while my mom grew up in Russia and my cousins live in Germany and I know people in some other countries too) but I did find it hilarious and lets just say it is a love-hate thing.

But my best friends are totally OBSESSED with Homestuck, and if I told them it started to... Well, lose my intrest in it, they probably would never talk to me!!
I used to love homestuck. Until i read the comic. Its like over 50 billion friggin pages!!! And the characters werent really well-developed, unlike Hetalia, whose characters were well developed from the start. Hetalia also HAS A PLOT.
