I didn't like the concept of my last illustration, so this will replace that in my final for concept class. woo woo.She's based on celtic mythology that's portrayed in a lot of the fantasy books I read.. She's often referred to as "She who cuts the thread" i.e. "Death".
My take on her was that all people are connected to her with "threads" of hair. When a person's time is up, she has her shears to end their time.
Inked with sakura microns and coloured in photoshop.

Isnt there a similar concept of her in greek mythology as well? Cause i know i've seen that in Hercules (yes i know) but yeah. Its a beautiful picture....lots of in-depth meaning once you really think about it. I love it ^_^

You're very welcome hon. Yeah, it's very rare that I catch her. She's expecting another baby. When we spoke, she was in the middle of clearing out a workspace for herself so she can start drawing again.

Very effective interpretation of Atropos. It also seems to gather all the three fates into one being which is also one ancient interpretation. Very well done, and an excellent illustration.

An interesting viewpoint, there... technically, here, each life would be growing directly from death, until it too falls from the fertile lands supplied by the death of others... one is cut away, another grows in place...

Design process? That was a first year course. I had Deni Crenzeli (spelling) for that. This is for Illustration 1 with Taxali. Gary liked the other one I did more though. I did two, because I didn't like the first one.

I do like it, but I think there are a few problems with the anatomy... and maybe the lighting. *Hey, I get yelled at for not being constructive. I'm trying to change my waaays.*
I think her neck is too long (first), thick, and cylindrical. It doesn't really feed into, but rather sits on her shoulders. Something about her outstretched hand is irksome too, but I can't quite place my finger on it...
The little glowey bubbles are great, but they don't reall interact with the rest of the picture (her hair, dress...), and they look a little stuck on, if you catch my drift....
Maybe I'm just rambling like usual. Ah well. I hope that was minorly helpful!
