Nicknames: Blaze, Hotshot (by Rainbow Dash), Hothead

Parents: Rainbow Dash and Quibble Pants

Personality: Trailblazer is just as fiery as his name. He's short tempered and highly competitive to the point where it's not uncommon for him to ignore to rub it in his rivals' faces when he wins or outright accuse them of cheating and actually try to pummel them when he loses. He's also very stubborn and egotistical. He never admits that he's wrong about something or that he's not as good as he thinks he is unless his twin sister points it out. Mayflower's the one pony his age he'll never argue with.
Bio: Ironically, Rainbow and Quibble were only expecting one foal when the twins were born. Trailblazer was the one they were expecting. Mayflower was a complete surprise to everypony but Pinkie Pie (her Pinkie Sense told her that Rainbow's first two foals would be twins). Almost right away, Blaze was up in the air, showcasing to all that he was destined to be a great flyer. Rainbow taught him everything he knows about being a great flyer and often told him that he could be a Wonderbolt. Inspired by his mother's belief in him, Blaze trained hard to become a Wonderbolt. However, he was put under a great deal of pressure by many ponies. He was expected to surpass Rainbow Dash in all her flying accomplishments before and after she became a Wonderbolt. Quibble was the first to see that his son was starting to falter and he didn't hesitate to tell Rainbow that having Blaze tryout for the Wonderbolts Academy was a bad idea. Rainbow more or less ignored her spouse's worries as being able to handle pressure was part of being a Wonderbolt. She didn't quite get that Quibble was trying to tell her that Blaze was under more pressure than he could bear. May saw it too, but kept her silence since Blaze still wanted to try. During his solo trial at the Wonderbolts Academy, Blaze finally broke as Quibble predicted and failed miserably. That's when Rainbow finally saw that he was trying too hard to get out from under her shadow. Even more so, he made excuses and blamed other ponies for his failure so he could get another shot. The fact that he didn't handle failure well was just another reason for Spitfire to deny him a second chance for a while despite him being one of the more promising flyers she's ever seen. Blaze was very volatile after that. It wasn't until May took a big risk that he settled down. She braved being yelled at and possibly attacked to tell him he failed himself by trying to be better than their mom and that he wouldn't be until he admitted that he wasn't. "You need to write your own story, not try to be the sequel to our mother's!" Upon hearing that, he realized something: he never really wanted to be a Wonderbolt. He let Rainbow stir his feelings up to the point where he couldn't tell if what his mom wanted for him was something he really wanted. As of now, he still doesn't truly know what he wants to do with his life. He's currently on the Ponyville Weather Team, but that's so he isn't completely wasting his time.
Fun Facts:

- During his first race, Blaze competed with Lightning Dust's son, Cloud Breaker. They developed a pretty heated rivalry until their failures to get into the Wonderbolts Academy. Not long after realizing that he never truly wanted to be a Wonderbolt, Blaze found out that Cloud's mother disowned him when he failed to become one on his first try. They're currently friends now.

- Blaze has a crush on Jelly Sandwich. He often helps her refine her poor flying skills just so he can spend time with her.

- Much like his mom, Blaze has a pretty slow pet too. Blaze's pet is a sloth named Molasses (or Mollie for short).

- When they were little, Blaze and May didn't get along very well. It took a lot for Rainbow and Quibble to get them to be nice to each other.

- Much like his name, Blaze's speed trail looks like a burst of flames.

Edit: I changed Blaze's coat color to a grayish blue so his mane stands out more against it. It also doubles as a invert of Mayflower's sandy gold coat. I originally wanted to do a color reversal thing with their designs and I still don't know why I scrapped it when I first posted them.
