Description So, this is the monster that i've been working on these past two weeks. Done completely with markers and a touch of water colours!
I needed practice on colouring and different faces, so why not make a picture of Bioshock's diverse characters?

Character Roster:
Andrew Ryan, Little Sister, Dr. Steinman, Big Daddy, Peach Wilkins, Julie Langford, Sander Cohen, Father Wales, Big Sister, Stanley Poole, Grace Holloway, Brigid Tenenbaum, Agustus Sinclair, Gil Alexander (and alex the great), Eleanor Lamb, Sofia Lamb, Dr. Yi Suchong, Frank Fontaine, Jack, and subject Delta.

I recently read the book Bioshock: Rapture, and was quite pleased. I loved how they portrayed the characters, especially Andrew Ryan and Fontaine.
I loved it when they got a chance to interact too
The book really fleshed out the characters (more than they already did in the game) and really made me enjoy the book.
I love you Ryan and Fontaine <3

EDIT
I wish you guys could see my reaction to this getting a DD. thank you so much <3

the fire and ice effects look really cool! I like how you used the space and filled it with references from the game. Nicely done!

Hmm...
*looks at this,
then looks at your
art now, does it 99 times*
Then I'm assured it won't disappoint!
Sooooooo now that I have caught your
attention once again, any funny moments
you happened to you in either Bioshock 1 or 2?
(and I don't mean glitches, but more like coincidental incidents)

FeatherNotes In reply to LordoftheVillains [2015-11-05 23:52:46 +0000 UTC]

hmmm-- None that I can remember clearly enough since I haven't played the game
in quite a while, but I did watch my sister run through the two of them-- And holy lordy some of those
friggen splicers-!
There was this one part where she was scoutin' about and all of a sudden you hear a splicers say
"take that" or "i'll show you" (something along those lines haha) and he throws a bomb/grenade what have you that completely kills
himself!! like Bam! outta the game! Actually, I think it's happened more than once in both games
now that I think of it : 0 Splicers are quite the gem in the 2nd one though, always so catty to eachother
and so utterly hopeless

LordoftheVillains In reply to FeatherNotes [2015-11-06 01:03:34 +0000 UTC]

Ah Yesss, splicers.
There all just a bunch of laughs.
Reminds me of two funny moments in 1st.
1. While in the medical lounge trying to explore
and all(and I been hearing a splicer so I had my guard up)
I saw this bear on a table, I got close just to all the sudden have
smoke come out of nowhere and fill the whole screen! I stood there waiting till
it was gone, turn around and this splicer doctor is in front of my face like this!
Now what did I do with such a creep surprise,   ! Right in the kisser went flying like a comet! That
freaking splicer was never goanna see the sun shin*COUGH!!!COUGH!!!* Okay, no more cowboy voice!
(okay so this one was not a all laughs to the floor, but the next one is batter)

2. Remember the first guy
dear old Sander Cohen told us to
kill for one of his photos? Well anyways
I was around that part, and I was exploring
the place(I seem to have noticed a pattern here)
preparing for his fight(well mostly burning). When
all of the sudden the bastard froze me, after unfreezing
I thought he just gave me a warning, so I started burning
the frozen splicers to kill them. And out of all the coincidences
in the world I burned the guy and he was just running screaming
until this other splicer got out and started shooting the guy and both
killed themselves. And all I did was stand there and watch them freaking go...the funnier
part for me was I still didn't know it was the guy until Sander told me to take the freaking picture!

Favorite Adam to use in 1 and 2?(or maybe you used the same one in both)

omg the dentist part !!! with the teddy bear on the table? Ohh my gosh, I always try to have a replay of the bishock games, but I always stop around Steinmans part because of that STUPID DENTIST! It always freaked me, even when I knew he'd do the misty-boo thing!
haha, and that's great! I think I remember a similar incident when I first started with the picture taking- I was okay when he said to snap one of fitzpatrick, but boy, after that, i was all over the place not knowing who to go for! I was probably too flustered with all the screaming tbqh haha

And fav plasmids? I'd always go with the electro shock and hypnotize big daddy (first) and I think incinerate? Tbqh, I didn't actually use plasmids too much in either game, I was more focused on weapons like the machine gun in first (short accurate bursts helped save a heck ton of ammo) and the rivet in the 2nd (and of course the drill!)
I think in Infinite I used more plasmids like the crows and again with the shock!

LordoftheVillains In reply to FeatherNotes [2015-11-07 04:47:48 +0000 UTC]

Ah excellent!
So you were able to pin point what I meant, and
here I thought I was the only who got that moment.

I on the other hand in 1 went for the
freeze plasmid! And maybe my second
choice was the bee or electricity plasmid.(can't exactly remember)
While in the 2nd I went for the
fire plasmid, and with my second
choice it was summoning Eleanor plasmid!(there was also electricity)

And since were talking about weapons,
In the 1st I went mostly for the mighty shotgun
and the powerful crossbow! While in the 2nd I used mostly(again) the crossbow,
and(who wouldn't) the Powerfully Supreme Drill!(so satisfying launching at enemies and drilling them to death).

...Um, sorry to tell ya,
but haven't played Infinite.(yet!)
But I have seen play troughs! So I'm not clueless to what you may say.

So what path did you go with the little sisters?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FeatherNotes In reply to LordoftheVillains [2015-11-09 21:32:39 +0000 UTC]

ah the crossbow was so so satisfying to use!!
And hehe- When you get Elanor, I kept her out until the end , I felt much
more safe-- (even though I was a giant almighty Big Daddy!)

I saved every single one, both games. I honestly
could not bring myself to harvest any-- Not to mention
that I think I would have been pretty bummed out if I got a bad ending, or even the "not as bad
but still ominous ending". I wanted to know that even though the game was super dark
and dreary for the 98%, that there was still a chance of something good coming out
of the end-!

And ohh! Infinite is pretty enjoyable- It's gameplay is very very fun,and the story is pretty enticing!

Oh Yesss,
and I loved
how in the 2nd
everybody got caught
on the wall from a headshot.
I mostly kept her because felt
Delta deserved so freaking long.

Same here, could not
bare myself to kill any of them.

So, who did ya
kill or spared in the 2nd?

FeatherNotes In reply to LordoftheVillains [2015-11-16 23:48:46 +0000 UTC]

I spared grace, stanley and killed Gil-- i was the ultimate love bear of Bioshock 2
haha Although i was so distressed that I had to defeat sinclair : (((

LordoftheVillains In reply to FeatherNotes [2015-11-17 00:43:01 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I see.
I spared Grace.
Killed Stanley, and Gil.
And Yesss, I felt the same
way about Sinclair. Heartbreaking
to kill him. At the very least I gave him a fight death. With Honor......and lots of fire.

FeatherNotes In reply to LordoftheVillains [2015-11-30 23:11:18 +0000 UTC]

Mine was Eleanor with the pretty sunset and her taking deltas death as the next step forward w/ the little sisters-- I think it's the best ending out of the 4? ( i think there's four??)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LordoftheVillains In reply to FeatherNotes [2015-11-30 23:37:14 +0000 UTC]

Hmm I see, mine was the same.
And by the way what do ya think of this?

Delta - Garnet
Little Sisters - Connie or/and Ruby and Sapphire (choose your poison)
Big Sisters - Lapis Lazuli or Pearl
Eleanor - Stevonnie
Sofia Lamb - Dr. Priyanka Maheswaran
Andrew Ryan - Yellow Diamond
Brigid Tenenbaum - Rose Quarts

Sadly, no idea(or can't choose) who else is who in Bioshock 2. Thoughts?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FeatherNotes In reply to LordoftheVillains [2015-12-04 23:27:12 +0000 UTC]

ohh I didn't know you could kill stanley and get the best ending? Huh!!

hehe that'd be a pretty intense crossover for sure !! Tenenbaum might have to be someone who's a bit more misunderstood, like Lapis lazuli-- And I feel all the little sisters would be the multiple versions of steven hehe!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LordoftheVillains In reply to FeatherNotes [2015-12-05 04:33:05 +0000 UTC]

Apparently, who
would have ever thought.

Hmm, well I was thinking for Steven to be Jack.
Since they both have something important.
(I was thinking more for Bioshock 2 characters at the moment.)

Buuuut then if one looks from another
point Rose would have to be Andrew. Would
solve Fontaine(option two is Jasper) as Yellow.
Buuuuuuut Yellow would look so good. Your thoughts?

And actually good choice with Tenenbaum.
Never did think of it that way. Forgot Tenenbaum was that Shattered.
(I didn't mean to make a pun, I swear!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FeatherNotes In reply to linkstering [2015-05-11 01:06:24 +0000 UTC]

heheh if only omgoshHH!!

I would study the characters, look up the traits that stand out the most? So Fontaine with his absolute nature, stanely being timid, Lamb having that righteous look etc etc-- The layout I definitely wanted to have the more troubled people at the bottom with Ryan, to depict what his city has become and where he belongs, anchored with lamb in the middle, being an extremist in her actions, yet trying to pull martyr, and Fontaine on the top to show that 'supreme' quality with him! Also, the butterflies are placed on people in the picture that had some connection to Eleanor like Gil, Stanley and Grace!

Ah I see simply amazing and what about Dr. Suchong I noticed that his pose has a sort of -the means that justifies the end- kind of vibe. And have you ever played Bioshock before if yes what did you like about it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FeatherNotes In reply to linkstering [2015-05-11 20:42:22 +0000 UTC]

I've played it a good amount of times, and love to watch others play it too- the aesthetics of the game from the glowy coral pieces, the 1950s era, the bit of spook and intrigue, and especially the psychological parts are definitely what I love most about it. Andrew Ryan is my fave character from the first game-- and I liked that he was fleshed out in the book as well. His demise was something that I was always fond of too--- I was very happy that it didnt turn out to be this long drawn out boss fight, but instead of the man breaking apart and just loosing it. It's definitely a scene i'll never forget-!
The gameplay was definitely more enjoyable in the 2nd one, but that's always a given when they do an upgrade to the next instalment.
Also, the whole 'making of big daddys' and the inspirations they took to create them are so super fascinating! Have you ever seen the original concept pieces for little sisters? it's so wild to see what they could have gone with, and what they stick with!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

linkstering In reply to FeatherNotes [2015-05-12 00:38:55 +0000 UTC]

Well Andrew Ryans death was definitely something that I would never forget but there was one thing I never understood about it he clearly had Jack under his control with the "would you kindly" phrase, he could've killed Jack instead of having him kill himself instead. And there are books about Bioshock I had no idea I will definitely have to check them out, and as for the little sister concept art I've never seen them but after you mentioned them I looked it up and there pretty gruesome compared to what they had chosen to go with, they looked really worn down and sad it's really depressing just looking at them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FeatherNotes In reply to linkstering [2015-05-12 16:00:59 +0000 UTC]

Andrew Ryan chose his death, because that's what he was all about-- the will to choose. If it would have been up to the player to choose for him, then it would probably not reflect what he really stands for with the whole ' a man chooses, a slave obeys' thing. Andrew knew that he had no where to go,and  nothing to bring back because Rapture was completely in turmoil. In his recordings, it's more regret he faces (and in the books) with how it all goes down, and he really destroys himself because of the city.  That's how it makes sense for me anyways---

And yeah! They decided to go with something more 'cute and innocent' because of the fact that the game gives you an option to kill them for an easy progression, or to spare them with a good reward in the end, so they really wanted to the player to think about that choice. The previous designs don't really have that much, since people are more likely to kill something they find 'scary or upsetting"-- I do enjoy the previous designs though (aside from the rodent versions at least haha)

FeatherNotes In reply to SoldierBoyXIII [2015-03-19 01:39:46 +0000 UTC]

Delta was a dude who accidentally found Rapture, nicknamed Johnny Topside.  He wasn't trusted by Ryan so they turned him into the first successful Big Daddy! : ) Delta is his own character, he's got a great little story about him in Bioshock2.
