cool. However, my recycling bin (gadget) doesn't seem to be full when i delete something... anything wrong or is it not supposed to?

great work though i have a couple of questions. I cant seem to configure the app launcher gadget and the recycle bin doesn't look full when i delete anything.. the graphic just remains empty.

The launcher gadget is limited to those 4 apps on it, unless you edit the settings, make graphics and replace those with yours...
As for the recycle bin gadget - i have no idea why it doesn't work.
