[completed] Port from [link]Since I'm using XP again, I decided to make another wmp11 skins for XP users. Even though I don't like new win7 style at all the light media player looks quite interesting.
Bogo-d made a awesome find in the registry which allows to change colors of the toolbar, titlebar and bottom bar - all this makes a light skin quite possible. (Except for media guide font)
Instructions and stuff inside.
ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS OF THE FILES YOU'LL REPLACE plz

I don't think there is a version of wmp in windows 7 which is for windows XP.
And I think the count of format that supported by wmp is small.
I like wmp, because the UI of it is pretty good.
Some players such as Storm Codec can support more formats.

Alex, Can I use your resources to make a Google Chrome wmploc.dll for WMP11 XP and also can I use your Color Setting.reg to change the text color of the command bar of Google Chrome wmploc.dll

when i opened the reshaker with the wmploc.dll given in zip file it shows this

WOW! man! This is an amazing skin! Great Job! Only one problem. I can't install it properly. I mean I followed the instructions and changed that dll's version to mine. Then all it said in the instructions was to use this modified dll. But then I guess I am supposed to replace the original dll file in the wmp folder? I tried looking for the original one in wmp folder, but it didn't have any. So I just moved this new dll in there and used that change colour registry thingy, but nothing changed. Can you help please? BTW: I am using XP SP2

Ok right, looks great but everytime I run WMP it automaticly replace your Win7 modified wmploc.dll with the original wmploc.dll. So it works one time, then if I close, run it again, it's back to the original look.
Can I do something against this? Or maybe it's because I have Seven Transformation installed...

Thank you, I finaly got it to work after replacing de wmploc.dll in the dllcache folder.

That's impossible, wmp11 uses bitmap with static mask, so it cant be smooth.

Try replacing in safe mode

Does that mean pressing a button (F8 I think) when the computer's turning on? Then do I have to press another button to get back to normal the next time it turns on?

When you press F8 you get advanced boot options, and yeah you can chose safe mode from there. Don't worry it's perfectly safe, it won't remain safe mode every time you boot, only when you F8

Yay! I'm silly, I didn't realise I had to replace wmploc.dll!!!
I took a look at it in Resource Hacker, and I saw the white bitmaps. I thought the registry hack was changing the colours
