Something I've got to solve tonight, figuring out the right (imo) anatomy after much efforts... And felt like it would be worth sharing it here, in a step-by-step sequence, to show how this kind of improvised drawings can happen.

So yes, it only started as a lonely knee, there, because I sometimes enjoy drawing legs in less obvious angles and PoV's (1) .... But then, you see, when that silly initial part was done, I couldn't help my challenge-obsessive mind from thinking further into the problem, and so got myself into the task of solving the rest of her body in a most relaxed and natural way... By now, most of you know that I like my ladies' postures to look natural. And that can often be quite difficult. Anyway (2) was done, too. And I was going to just clean it up, and drop it there, telling myself it was enough of that.... but... wait, what if (3)? .... then (4) and (5).... So gentle looking, wahhhhhh. ยด///`

haha... so, yeah, I'm glad I ever had this compulsive kind of feeling with me, this need, to bring each of my sketches to a completion, to see what are they hiding. Feels like I can bring unsuspected little characters to life, even if only for a brief instant, for one only drawing, one solely glance. Like an unlooked for visitor. : )

Yeaahh.... I've been in a very unusual mood lately.
Anyway, thanks for reading, if you did.

Oh, hey and no, my little friends and occasional visitors, this is not a base, or anything like that. Actually, I think I'll finish this drawing tomorrow -into some decent level of finishing-ness, at least.

I've had sketches start out this way, but I've not worked up the confidence to let an actual illustration develop this way... but hey, fear of mistakes is just an obstacle for improvement, right><. This is a great visual!

You know ? That can be a good way for drawing .

I usually start with a stick-figure trying to define the pose ,but then when I came to drawing the body , the proportions do not fit with each other .

Maybe I'll try your way next time to see what can I get ?

I can never get the contact part right, but having it drawn out like this helps a lot. Thanks!!

Nicely done. Always loved seeing the process of work done. Most of the time, people just try to explain it with text, even though a visual representation is best in terms of art.

I do this a lot, especially when drawing hands or heads... but feet first seems like an interesting way to achieve a good sense of balance from the ground up (literally).

night-howl [2012-09-16 20:30:05 +0000 UTC]

That's pretty good! I can never draw legs in different angles and positions. I am the same way, I draw one little part to practice then I must draw the rest out of curiosity and for the challenge!

Again, that is amazing how you started and what the result was
