Firstly let me explain, i'm not here to quarrel or blame someone.These days western world have a voice of "free tibet". Some of them even suggest to boycott the Beijing Olympic.
I see several quarrels on DA about it.
I just feel so bad for it.
I don't want to say agree or disagree here, i just want to say the truth.
By the way , I'm a selfish person, tibet problem is never my business. I just don't like people say dirty words to each other. DA is just a place for art and people who love art.
Here is what i know about Tibet.
The start is , a few people instigated the enmity , that caused tibet people (sorry i don't know how to translate it )killed some innocent passerby. Some foreigners faced the event, they can prove it true.
Again, i don't want to blame anyone, i just don't like violence.
That's all I want to say.
Why we don't just to choose a peace world? why fight?
Gossip means nothing, please use your own eyes.
I hope everyone can clam down, the "freers(i mean free + er...XD)",and our chinese.
Please make sure what's the truth.
And I don't know what's wrong with Olympic, it's just a sport game, i think it's pure, why don't just talk about sports?
You may be agree, thank you. You may disagree, that's all right.
I'm just here to say STOP quarreling on DA.
Please clam down.
1 year before, when i first registered here, it was a place that the only language was art.
I want to see the world again.

China knew that everyone would use this 'olympic' chance to voice their opinions
over in Australia, tourists filmed tibet people beating these chinese people and i heard from the Chinese news that they also set fire to this shop (killed 6 people)which consisted of 5 chinese staff and one tibet girl. i can only sigh...
I've noticed that the english media is only bringing to light on how corrupt China's govt is (i agree, it is a bit corrupt) but they seem to be biased. well then again, a majority of media are biased

And I know what you mean about the politics, at my college there was a booth regarding Tibet, I don't know if it was started by a group for Tibet or China, but it didn't matter, I was expecting fights to break out it was so intense. I stayed well out of the way. Sounds like this is going to be a hot issue for a while...
I wish politics were left out on DA. I come here to talk about art, not politics.

I am not greatly informed on the events that took place to cause the uprising and protests, in fact I learned more of it from your description than I have from the news. I cannot say who's right and who's wrong, it would be terrible to pass such a judgement, so in that aspect I agree with you whole heartedly. One has always got to look for the truth on a matter before spewing hatred in innappropriate ways.
Concerning the Olympic Games, I agree with you as well, they are A sports competition, it does represent and image of world peace and serenity. It is not appropriate to boycott them, if one feels that their safety is jeopordized, or they disagree they should then do as most of us do and watch the events on television, not try and destory the games for everyone else. I wholeheartedly believe that such things whould be kept away from dA if it's going to disrupt the relationships of the members and take away from the material of this site.

On your picture, this is beautiful, I very much enjoy the colors you chose to represent him with, and his pose is striking and strong. I love the effect of the cave, and your skin tones are absolutely amazing. His stance is captive, and powerful as well as peaceful, with the way he calmly holds his arm to his side, but also holds his sword. Its beautiful. Once again a masterful peice of work.

I totally agree with you girl.
I'm outraged by the amount of crap that the media sprouts about this whole event. It's just ridiculous.
Most people don't even understand the facts behind the whole thing and all they can see is oh, China is big and it's bullying little Tibet.
It's so stupid. 
Linking it to the Beijing Olympics is just another way to offset China. It's so disgusting.
People should just get the facts right and keep certain issues apart.

I don't get much information at my house but I did catch wind of the troubles over there when I visited my parents recently (Yay satelite tv + CCTV!)
Personaly, I think its kinda stupid. Any point they are trying to make is lost in the violence and outrage. Just seems really senseless to me. And boycotting the olympics is just plain dumb too. The whole point of the games is to bring nations together for friendly competition. Not this childish stuff. IMO, anyways.

You might not be able to write your thoughts very well. But your art speaks loud and clear. Really truly the Olympics is a chance to have nations meet and compete as sportsmem and women of course. Those are the moments when the games should be the focus. They were played During WW2 and those were great games. It was a shame when the US didn't play in the games in Moscow to protest the USSR at the time. By not showing up at those games all we accomplished was to silence our Team. To just be that guy that doesn't go out and stays home and sulks. Better to go represent and maybe embrace and be embraced by other countries. Common ground is how friends are made, problems become solvable.
That aside, I'm here for the same reason you are the art. I enjoy your work here.

Everyone has a right to express their opinions. Im chinese, and i feel strongly for whats happening in Tibet, and it is terrible...
but even artwork can be a message about war& society. You cant stop it unfortunately war is everywhere in every form... -

The Tibet situation is very complex, and I learnt its not what everyone thinks from my Chinese friend, just wish humans could live in peace, but i guess thats just a dream.

I'm not up to date politically, so i don't know much, but I agree with you, we all just need to get along. On a smaller scale, i was so much happier in high school that junior high because people stopped trying to one-up eachother and went with teh flow, not insulting and not being insulted (the junior high in my town is absolutely terrible, its preps VS everyone), so if people could just translate that to the world, it would be a happier place.

Even where I live, in an inner city in Upstate NY America, we have Free Tibet protests. I agree with you and I think that people should just discuss art here and sports at the Olympics. I don't have any problems with Tibet and I feel terrible for the violence and the death... but it is none of my concern because there is little I can do to help those people. But boycotting and protesting will only beget more violence and disagreeing.
I hope for the best of all people around the world but as a very dear friend of mine once said in a philosophy article, "the fighting will only stop when there is no one left to fight. When we are all dead."
For some odd reason, this painting causes me to want to reflect on the issues surrounding warriors and their causes but in an almost peaceful looking back manner. I am very impressed with this painting and just so you know, I support your opinion.
