Hey, look at the world's priorities right now. We have more attention and focus being put into technology, consumerism, and accessories than in bringing social, political, and ecological unity together for the entire world. We should be exploring our own oceans, not crying our eyes out over NASA being 86ed. Is it unnecessary? You bet, but if it can mean money, then just as Crichton put in his books, bio-technologies will become a major player in the market and a dinosaur however glorious, lucrative, and bad an idea it is will be cloned in the end.
