Description
This is the final version of the frog commission so many people liked. it's only lacking two coats of Damaar Varnish before it runs off to live with it's new owner. if you want to commission me for something, all you have to do is email me, or drop me a note. i trade sometimes, too.Related content

I just recieved the original painting today in the mail. These pictures and prints, although they look amazing on their own, do not do the real painting justice. It's absolutely incredible and will find a place of honor in my home. To anybody that reads this, I assure you that this woman is an amazing artist and should you need anything done, contact her. She was professional, courteous, and her work speaks for itself. Add that her already truly unique style and you are presented with an art piece that will catch comments of praise in all it's years to come.

Awsomeness, first time I saw it I burst out laughing because it reminded me of my friend's father-- except the frog is smiling and not holding a 19th century rifle at me.
Great background and use of green on brown colors. Very gritty and velvety... and slippery, textures are just so great. I like how you didn't use absolute black and absolute white (except for the eyes and the fob), and the frog's proportions like the legs are very well done-- even his pinkey is being held out.
This prince is a true gentleman.

thank you! it's never a good idea to use absolute blacks and whites exept for highlights and some details, when you paint realistically, at least. thanks for taking the time to write a thoughtful comment!!

the frog was actually a commission. someone asked for a big frog in a top hat. they said they really liked the feeling of the old line drawings from the alice-in-wonderland books, with the slightly creepy edge to them.

That is sure good. I like the character, but the fluent painting technique even better. Especially the gold watch. The red rose is a good contrast, and I guess it's part that catches the eye.

i like the washes, and that the wallpaper has been ripped out behind him.
The position of the hand in relation to his leg...all helps with the aristocratic feel. ..nice job!

This artwork is amazing, a real quality piece. I can't help being reminded of the frog from the WB cartoons though. Prehaps that's why I like it so much.

so, I beg your pardon, LOL 
painting but the hand holding the watch is superb ( well done shading - makes
it look like there's real substance there ), and the fly wallpaper.....GREAT
touch ! A toad WOULD definitely choose a pattern like that !
