It's funny that you would so swiftly choose a label for it. "pop" is never what I think of. Contemporary romantic surrealism is what I've described it as before, but I don't really strive to jump into a "movement". "Pop" always brings to mind Andy Warhol and found object piles of crap, to me.

As you know I'm not attempting to convert you to like/embrace pop art. I only refer to pop surrealism, which is a type of high art spin on low brow art usually described as sophisticated displaced illustration - which is what you do so well.

They even have a brand new official label just for Jeff Soto's artwork it was "pluralist something or other," he was telling everyone on FB.

Sometimes I think people like to use these big almost-nonsensical loaded words just to sound superior. I have a hard time taking people seriously when they rely on too much of that kind of language. I guess if their art can stand alone they can call it whatever they like. If it can't stand alone, no amount of heavy, obscure labeling will help it!

lush and gorgeous...I love the way..the colours suggest autumn's dying and brilliant foliage..but her costume and figure suggests autumn's fruits and harvests..../very/beautiful work

Your work always has such a surreal edge to it. I really enjoy the cutting up of the background into seemingly different worlds by using her skirt- seeing the world underneath makes it almost feel like part of her outfit. Great work! Do you have any detail shots?
