well...to start off....the subject that's being chosen is very nice...good moment...nice composition of the subject against the black bg...however though...i would capture this at a vertical frame...it would give more space for the top person to express her emotion/action...as she looks up...i feel abit constrainted when it just cuts off as she leads upward...but since it's for newspaper then horizontal is ok...cause of the format of the newspaper..
