From the 5th, I'm using links instead of thumbnails to each door, as there's a thumb limit in deviation comments.

Every day between now and Christmas I will be drawing a brand new picture, based off of Sonic the Hedgehog! I'll be picking 25 games, comics, cartoons, or whatever, and drawing something based on it in the run up to Christmas No, you can't suggest a picture, they're a surprise! Check back each day for a new door, they won't be uploaded at a set time, but they'll be there

December 12th:

Game
Sonic Rush

Sonic Rush was released in 2005 on the Nintendo DS. It brought one of my favourite characters into the franchise; Blaze the Cat. Now, I'm not going to bother telling the over arching story of Blaze, as it seems to change in every game! But in Rush, she was from an alternative dimension, apprently taking Sonic's position in her parallel world; fighting her own version of Doctor Eggman; Dr. Eggman-Nega (Nega for short). Or, and she can set things on fire XD

The story of the game is a basic cross-dimension story; Blaze's world's been messed with, merging it with Sonic's world, and bringing her Sol Emeralds; a parallel version of the Chaos Emeralds (shaped in rectangular forms rather than brilliant cut); and her, into Sonic's world. The two cross paths with each other throughout the game, but rarely speak until near the end. When they start to beat each other up in a fight that reminded me of the Hidden Palace fight with Knuckles back in S3&K. The end brings about the by now common place Super battle, and the worlds breaking back apart.

Another game of firsts, this one introduced the Rush move, better known nowadays as Boost; Sonic or Blaze turbo charge through the levels, knocking enemies out of the way; the move has changed slightly in its transition to 3D, but remains essentially the same. And being the equivalent of Sonic, Blaze is the first, and so far only, female character in the franchise to have an official super form; only seen in Sonic Rush, Rush Adventure, and for a brief moment in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).

I remember the ending of this game pretty well, it made me a little sad :< Sonic and Blaze had to say goodbye to go back to their own worlds, which they seemed to be alright with as they shook hands. Until the worlds actually started dividing. They held onto each other's hands as long as they could, before they were pulled apart. Blaze flies home alone, and promises herself to remember the things she's learned from Sonic. We weren't sure at the time if there actually WOULD be a sequel, which is why it was kinda sad; Sonic and Blaze had finally met someone who was just like them, they'd probably be pretty good friends if they'd have been able to stay together in one world, but if they had, the worlds might have been put in danger again. You can see the similarity in the two from their farewell at the end :3 It was a good ending ^_^
