Description
Capstone illustration for my digital art course. I wanted to try something really ambitious (mistake on my part, probably) and ended up attempting a scene of a fantasy-styled trade caravan entering a desert city. My professor also challenged me to trying doing this without lineart, which, if you've ever seen my other stuff, is something I'm pretty reliant on. So that was...something DxBut hey, it's done, and it didn't turn out QUITE as awful as it could have. Not sure if I'm ready to graduate off lineart yet, or if I'll ever drop it completely--trying to do comic pages without it would be impossible for me--but it's a step in the right direction I 'spose.
For anyone curious, the big grey animals are based off paraceratherium, a giant extinct relative of the rhinoceros and a favorite megafauna of mine, and the smaller mounts are based loosely off giant sable antelope, AKA the Most Majestic Motherfuckers in Africa.

Wow, a lot of detail! With no lineart it looks quite different what I've seen from you before, but I like it. I'd like to see more of it!

Thank you!! Looking at it, I think I could have stood to add more texture, like, the big grey creatures and the walls feel too smooth to me. But I am really happy with it ^^
