I love it, but to interject one thing, there might be too many highlights on it. Not to be hypocritical, I love highlights as white lines too, but here there might be too many of them with the exact same kind of consistency. Maybe also see how light plays off the slime, because it wouldn't be constrained to just edges, it would be all over it, and that way you could really wow us with the smudge-goo stuff not just fading into the background.
