Do they need a lot of grooming and do they shed a buttload of fur in the summer? I know my husky does. Your dog is beautiful. :3

as you can see from the picture, we are not doing a lot of grooming :-/ general recommendation is you brush them once a week. their fur sheds dirt and so on, so we don't need to bathe him that often. (unless of course if he gets the runs then he can make a real mess of himself).
good news, Borzoi shed only once in their lifetime.
bad news, Borzoi shed for their whole lifetime. He is a walking hair factory, I swear half of what he eats comes out as hair. after a while you just kind of give up on keeping the house/car/whatever hair free.

He looks well groomed to me but then again I don't see many Borzoi. I've only seen one in "real life." My husky only sheds in the summer...I eat a lot of it by accident. In winter not a single hair falls off. X3Β
