I saw this and it made me consider how many people practice what they preach. I disagree with those that say that we cannot forgive or forget. Forgiving something is far different than forgetting it's existence. Thank you for this very interesting food for thought.

On the one hand, one must hate Hitler for what he did.
On the other, what tortured soul must he have had, what awful experiences, to have willfully commited such atrocity.

Very well done.

what you tried to do is to get this story an happy ending..but I'm sorry- It's not possible. there is no ending at all.
It's not only that we are not allowed to forget and to forgive, we can't. It will be dangerous. it will be dangerous if we will forget that the human can be the most horrible monster.
What scary me the most is that the nazis were actually human! they were children, maybe most of them had families, they all loved once. but still they did it.
That is not something that we can forget or forgive. not forgiving Hitler Χ™Χž"Χ© won't make you into a monster. forgiving him will. because that means that you forgive him about killing families. and I'm sure that this boy won't ever forgive him.

But...on the other hand, holding onto hate and bitterness forever will eat away at a person. Somehow it's those who never lived through that time to know first hand who are the angriest, and I don't know why. Remember the past for whatever it was, don't dwell on it.

"I can forgive , but i cannot forget" is only another way of saying, "I will not forgive." Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note-torn in two and burned up so that it never can be shown against one.

Moral of me typing this is your a dick learn to forget.

Yeah sure. They killed six million of my people. More than half. Most of the nations of Europe took part in it. Still want to. Always wanted to. Some are still trying to.

But I'm cool. No sweat. Go ahead. Atomize me. I'm cool. No harm done.

NO.

It's a very well drawn picture but chances are, that child wouldn't be able to hug Hitler, the boy would have already been gassed, overworked, shot, died of disease etc.

I'm baffled by this. I cannot stop laying my eyes on this picture. Do you think a person would be this forgiving?

And like what the others said about this, this has a great emotional feel to it. I find it remarkable and I'm debating wether to add it to my favorites.
