i don't know if I this is really dot.hack, or hack sign, or hack dusk or whatever. It's too confusing!!!anyway, this was for a fanart contest. I also haven't seen this anime, maybe because I saw hack//sign and hated it..so boring..I want hours of my life back from watching it. I drew these characters only because I like their character design.
Over all I don't really like it..T__T the background believe it or not was a pain because it was done 100% on Open Canvas.

well, this series seems to go with more than one name, I just call it .hack//dusk *shrugs*
the series was kinda good 'cept I sorta forgot about it for awhile and then finished watching it much later on so I'd probably need to rewatch it to remember it more correctly
I liked .hack//sign, I thought it was kinda interesting but I do admit, there definitely needed to be more action
(the one I didn't really care for was .hack//liminality, kinda boring and confusing)
and yes, lotsa .hack stuff; I've seen about most of them 'cept .hack//gift, and I never played the games
anyways, great pic, nice poses, and awesome coloring job

k sorry if i sounds like a know-it-all but this is just..uh..wut i know...-__- wut u call it depends on wut ur refferring to and sorta where u are (but u always say the dot. so its dot-hack). they're all called different things in the US and Japan. in the US, the anime is .hack//SIGN. im pretty sure in japan its .hack//DUSK. not quite sure tho. there are also 4 games, //infection; //mutation; //outbreak; //quarantine. the manga, which takes palce after the anime and game, is called .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet in the US. i dunno wut the names are in japan.

but the .hack anime show (in US) is .hack//SIGN. the manga (w/shugo and rena) is .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. There are 4 .hack games. //infection; //mutation; //outbreak; and //quarantine. woo dun i sound like a know it all? -__- hehe. Even though you say you can't give a damn which of the .hack's it really is, because of the very chibi-fied forms then i would say it's .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet (at least that was the name of it when i last heard.... and that was like last year, so it could have been changed....)

I like the designs for that anime too but never tried to draw them.
Excellent job on the pic, poses, expressions an coloring are great, and looking at the background I can imagine how hard was it for you to get it done.

I like it. The lack of a dominant thick outline gives it a special touch.
As for this... it's not dotHack//sign... which I also hated. It's actually the Legend of the Twilight Star (or something) and I've read the manga. It's a whole lot better and less boring. More cutesy with humor involved, if that's your kinda thing.

Personally, I like .Hack//Legend of the Twilight alot more then I liked .Hack//Sign (Although I must say if not for Sign, I wouldn't be terribly interested in the series at all). I've been watching the... *sigh* ...dub of LotT late Friday nights (around 1 AM EST) on Cartoon Network. (Was channel-surfing once, and ran across the first episode), strangely enough, the folks at CN aren't advertising it at all, plus they stretched the picture. O_o
Looking at the chibi-ness of the characters, I'd say that they probably are Shugo and Rena from LotT, or just chibi-fied versions of Kite and Blackrose from the games (...which is essentially what Shugo and Rena are anyway..) ^_^
Anyway, I guess I'm rambling again, all that really matters right now is that it's a great pic, well done Ferus! +fav
