Syndrome also has need for a temp, since Mirage is going on a shopping break with Helen Parr. (Yes, seriously! Any other interpretations are just figments of your own overheated imaginations!) The evil science guy therefore placed an ad in the Weekly Villain:
Kick-ass young woman wanted for temporary job during summer vacation. Previous experience of evil fighting considered a merit. Numerous gadgets and gizmos with guaranteed functionality (37 patents pending, 5 registered trademarks™ and full copyright on background music and graphic profile). Tropical island location. Full contingent of henchmen available.
Shego is, of course, the perfect candidate for the job. Syndrome, however, is in the process of making a fatal mistake. Cause of death – his own – will be lack of connection between brain and mouth, aggravated by a terminal case of bad taste. OK, Mirage is cute and all, but compared to Shego, she has the figure of a piece of string, with rather unimpressive front and rear bumpers.

This is a great pity, ‘cause Shego really liked the black dress and the possibilities of sun and sand. And side-kicking for an inventor whose stuff actually works would have been a nice change.
